Yes, folks, now they are deciding that the 'Smith sighting' was invented by all the Smiths...for, well, something or other, it's hard to follow bonkers logic.

I have always been curious about the weight Goncalo Amaral gave to the Smith sighting. I don't understand it.

In Smiths statement of 27th May 2007 (when I think Murat was the suspect then) he says:

— Adds that in May and August of 2006, he saw ROBERT MURAT in Praia da Luz bars. On one of these occasions, the first, he was inebriated and spoke to everyone. He did not wear glasses at that time. He also states that the individual who carried the child was not ROBERT. He would have recognised him immediately.

I think that these 2 have history. Smith co owns an apartment in Luz and says he goes there at least 3 times a year. I suspect over the years he has gotten to know Murat, and in this statement was helping him to get off from being the suspect

I assume that Smith referred to Murat by his christian name 'Robert'. If so, suggests he knows him on a friendly basis


And it's all downhill from then on
