Oh, is that what it was all about? Butler stole from her own family? Seem to vaguely recall her having some kind of family fight, but I can't pretend I was that much interested in her drunken ramblings.

Well, whatever it was, she was clearly found GUILTY as she is being sentenced this afternoon. No doubt more information will be forthcoming in the fullness of time.

Have the haters found a way of blaming the McCanns for Butler's misdeeds yet?

If they haven't found a way at the moment, just give them some time........

A full run-down of events in court so far. I wonder why none of the haters had a pretendy 'court reporter' there? Usually can't keep them out of courtrooms, pretending to be impotent, sorry, important. Or is this different?

It must be different, Bonny. This is about one of their own in an adverse way.

Can you imagine what they'd be like if Gerry McCann got a parking ticket? There would be 100 page threads, demands for the re-introduction of the death penalty for parking offences, allegations that it was a Masonic Plot because he hadn't been sent to Devil's Island for bad parking?

We all know what they're like.

But now they're all upset because a leading light of the We Hate The McCanns vendetta has, apparently, been caught with her fingers in someone else's cookie jar. Oh, not the crime itself, they're all butt-hurt that anyone should dare to mention her downfall.

Hypocrites, the lot of them - but very entertaining in their outrage.

Five full days in court. No one can say she didn't have a chance to put her case.

Is it not richly ironic that a woman who has devoted much of the past 7 years to trying to drag the parents of a lost child into court should find herself in one?

And for something involving trust and honesty in the most precious family relationships.


Quite.

Karma can be such a b*tch.

Her fan club needn't bother whining and crying - Butler courted the media, after all. Who can forget how eager the then-Foundation was to boast that she was going to be on TV?

And how we laughed when the Creosoted One made such a fool of herself!

Then there was all the boasting about how a 'red top' was going to be doing a story about her and the Rothley Stalking and this was the result:



And who can forget her attention-seeking antics over her 'walk around Spain'? The one she did by bus? Oh, that was fraud too, now I come to think of it.

Nope, Butler has gone out of her way to get attention, so she can't moan about people taking an interest and asking questions about her recent criminal convictions - which appear to be of a particularly despicable sort, if rumour is anything to go by.

Oh she has definitely put herself 'out there'. Why are there people upset about the equal treatment?

Hmm. Partly panic because one of their own kind has very publicly been caught with her hand in the cookie jar, but mainly their usual rank, stinking hypocrisy? IMO, of course.

They have asked for court rooms, they have asked for media exposure and other publicity. They should be careful what they wish for.......

They're bound to concoct a way of blaming the McCanns for Butler's sticky fingers, everyone knows what they're like.

Debbie Butler was the Chairman of the Madeleine Foundation from its formation in January 2008 but was expelled by the Committee from her position and from membership on 1 November 2009 because of her conduct.

Two days later she took steps to freeze the Madeleine Foundation bank account and then immediately made a series of wild allegations against me that were published by the Sun and the People without either newspaper checking any of the details.
