Secret Service agent to release tell-all book about the Clinton White House and the culture that 'sickened' him
Gary Byrne says he was posted outside Bill Clinton's Oval Office in 1990s
Was one of the agents who testified to a grand jury about Monica Lewisnky
Complained about her behavior and 'out of hours' access to the West Wing
Releasing book so voters understand the 'real' Clinton before the election
Reports say his expose is causing deep concern in the White House
The release of the book comes a month before the Democratic convention
Secret Service agents have openly discussed protecting Hillary in the past
Investigative journalist Ron Kessler said agents detested Hillary

Trump went too far today and I am not happy with him.  This was over his attack on the judge presiding over (or about to) his University suits.  It is making people in his party furious.

Yes, apart from anything else, it sounds whiney, like a mirror image of You're picking on me cos I'm black...

It's not quite as awful as Hillary's remark about putting coal miners out of work, but it's a stupid thing to say.

Re: US elections - Round Two

Post  bb1 on Tue Jun 07, 2016 7:51 pm

Hmm. I think I can see why Trump said it, if this is accurate - and it seems to be.

http://townhall.com/columnists/patbuchanan/2016/06/07/the-donald--the-la-raza-judge-n2174441

Before the lynching of The Donald proceeds, what exactly was it he said about that Hispanic judge?
Stated succinctly, Donald Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over a class-action suit against Trump University, is sticking it to him. And the judge's bias is likely rooted in the fact that he is of Mexican descent.

Can there be any defense of a statement so horrific?

Just this. First, Trump has a perfect right to be angry about the judge's rulings and to question his motives. Second, there are grounds for believing Trump is right.

On May 27, Curiel, at the request of The Washington Post, made public plaintiff accusations against Trump University -- that the whole thing was a scam. The Post, which Bob Woodward tells us has 20 reporters digging for dirt in Trump's past, had a field day.

And who is Curiel?

An appointee of President Obama, he has for years been associated with the La Raza Lawyers Association of San Diego, which supports pro-illegal immigrant organizations.

A judge involved with La Raza presiding over a case involving Trump? He should recuse himself, IMO. That's the point Trump should have been making, instead of sounding as if being of Mexican heritage alone was wrong.

You know, there's something I just don't understand about La Raza.

Gonzalo Curiel is a European Hispanic name, not an Aztec name. Pcorneater

Trump could have his attorney go for a mistrial about certain facets of the case.  I just wish he would shut up and stop flapping his gums for a while.

Yes, agreed, Lily. Trump would appear to have some grounds to objecting to the judge, but it's not simply because he's Mexican, it's because of his politics?

Clinton clinches Democratic nomination – Sanders vows to fight on

It genuinely baffles me that anyone - especially women - could vote for that corrupt, warmongering witch.

La Raza was not the nicest of organizations to belong to a few years ago.  Trump should merely have stated a sentence or two that he was not happy with that Judge and then dropped it.  IMO.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/06/09/obama-endorses-clinton-for-president-on-heels-sanders-meeting.html

Obama endorses Clinton for president, on heels of Sanders meeting

President Obama formally endorsed Hillary Clinton to succeed him in the White House Thursday, saying she has the "courage" for the job and vowing to hit the campaign trail for her soon -- in a video message posted just moments after meeting with her primary rival Bernie Sanders.

"I know how hard this job can be. That’s why I know Hillary will be so good at it," the president said, in the video posted on Clinton's campaign site. "In fact, I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office."

The president made clear he would no longer stand on the sidelines, even as Vermont Sen. Sanders vows to stick out the race at least through the final primary in Washington, D.C., next Tuesday.

The Clinton campaign separately announced that she and Obama would campaign together June 15 in Green Bay. Clinton tweeted that she's "fired up."
..etc.

Hmmm, there's devilry afoot somewhere here..... Pcorneater

Founder of Judge Curiel’s Group: Whites Should Go Back to Europe, California To Be ‘Hispanic State

You'd think the word 'Hispanic' would be a bit of a clue, wouldn't you? Has no-one told them that California was once Spanish = European?

Yes, Bonny, California had its war with Mexico which is easier for me to explain by giving this link:-

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_California

La Raza's old web site used to be disgustingly racist against whites/blacks a few years back.  Their aims shocked me like I could not believe.  They have settled down since.......

Interesting, Lily, thanks, I only had the vaguest ideas of what changed hands, when and why. Mexico's brief rule over the area seems to have been something of a disaster?

I just find the whole idea of La Raza ridiculous - have any of them tried genetic testing? Where do they imagine all these Spanish names came from, besides Spain?

Can you imagine the uproar if Trump announced that all Hispanics should be back to Spain? It's a ludicrous argument, IMO, not least because they ARE of European descent.

I don't quite know how to put this delicately.   Many people from down south have not necessarily had the best of educations and their knowledge may be lacking.  They may not know any better than what other people are telling them?

It can be quite a problem at times.
