Re: AFTER BREXIT
Yup, I can see it all now, Lily....
I might have more faith in this exciting development if someone could sort out the problems with Scotrail, the Edinbugh trams, buses everywhere, and potholes.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
So, only a couple of weeks after we were treated to the SNP yelling at the Mail for calling assorted judges 'enemies of the people', we have this SNP-supporting comic producing this.
Said 'enemies' apparently pointed out that Westminster is the superior of Holyrood.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
Brussels 'to fast-track offer' for British nationals in France to remain EU citizens.
The European Union’s Brexit negotiators will offer British people a chance to individually remain part of the EU, according to media reports in Britain.
There was potentially some good news on Friday for all those Brits who were unhappy about the EU referendum result.
The Independent newspaper claimed on Friday that Guy Verhofstadt, the man put in charge of Brexit negotiations by the European parliament, will fast-track a proposal that would allow Brits to opt-in and maintain their EU citizenship.
It had already been revealed that the EU was considering a plan to allow Brits to stay as EU citizens but Verhofstadt has now “fast-tracked the idea to the negotiating table”, the Independent writes.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
It does sound like a solution for those Brits who wish to be under the EU flag, LL, but there's a big snag - the person it's come from, Verhofstadt.
He makes no secret of his hatred for 'England', so there are doubts as to whether this is meant as a serious offer to solve a problem, or whether it's just more sh*t-stirring from Mr Rotten Teeth.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
https://stv.tv/news/politics/1375290-eu-confirms-no-separate-brexit-talks-with-scotland/
The European Union has confirmed to STV News it will not negotiate separately with the Scottish Government over Brexit.
A spokesman for the European Commission, the EU's executive body, made the statement ahead of a meeting between its president Jeane-Claude Juncker and former First Minister Alex Salmond.
Salmond will meet the president in Brussels on Thursday as part of an awards ceremony.
In a statement to STV News, a spokesman for the commission said: "The president's doors are always open. Scotland is part of the UK and the commission respects the internal constitutional arrangements of the UK.
"Negotiations will take place with the UK Government only (once the UK sends its Article 50 notification)."
Which was obvious to anyone sane from the start.
1. The EU already has an ample supply of small, bankrupt states.
2. The last thing the EU wants to do is encourage other secessionist movements.
All of the noise from Sturgeon and co is simply to keep the party faithful quiet.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/brexit-court-challenger-gina-miller-9434637#ICID=sharebar_twitter
Gina Miller has slammed last week's Commons vote on the Brexit as "irrelevant" and a "red herring".
The investment fund manager has said that the motion was not legally binding and will only open the door for MPs to vote on the timing of the Brexit negotiations, rather than the plans in their entirety.
Talking to the Press Association, Miller said: "The motion is to set up a timetable, it actually doesn't say anything about the contents (of the Brexit negotiations).
"The inference was that that motion - having passed in the Government's favour - that we should basically pack up and go home, because that's Parliament taking responsibility and looking after itself.
"And we would argue no, it's actually a red herring in that it's a political move, it's not a legal one," she said.
Oh, why bother with voting, or parliaments, or anything? We should all be good little serfs and obey the diktats of her, her chum Soros, and their ilk.
I just cannot imagine what has made her the most loathed woman in Britain.....

Re: AFTER BREXIT
Comment:
The acton's of Ms Miller regarding this episode to me show's her utter and total contempt of the U.K. parliament and the voter's of this nations wishes .
She seems not to care or recognise the voter's wishes at all .
She has made it clear by her actions that unless she gets what she wants she will try anything and everything to stop or delay Brexit at all costs .
The issue of costs also cause me concern regarding this case namely who is going to pay them regarding what the result is ? .
My thoughts on these costs is that Ms Miller was so concerned about the legality of the referendum result she should be made to pay every single last penny of the supreme courts cost as she is the person who is challenging the process of leaving and she's got a well paid job so if she feels so strongly about this she should pay all the costs instead of leaving the tax payers to pay them to pay for her to argue her case and concerns .
Quite. Why should taxpayers foot bills run up by Mrs Smug Rich?

Re: AFTER BREXIT
More than £940 million of taxpayers’ cash has been lost to waste and projects going over budget in Scotland’s public sector since the SNP came to power, say the Scottish Conservatives. The figures have been unveiled in a dossier which is calling on ministers to cut waste and hand the savings back to families and businesses in the form of tax breaks in finance secretary Derek MacKay’s budget this week. The report, entitled Mackay’s Missing Millions, claims the cost of over-budget government projects and departmental waste since the SNP came to power now runs to £431.5m. When other public sector cost overruns in Scotland, for which the Scottish Government has partial responsibility, are included it reaches £947.7m since 2007.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
Exactly the same mentality, Lily. I hope Mrs May calls a snap election in the Spring, we'll get rid of at least some of the SNP Westminster troughers from the east coast/rural areas. I am afraid the Central Belt is a lost cause, for the time being.

SNP mulls putting candidates up in England
Nicola Sturgeon was interviewed by the actor Alan Cumming, who described her as "inspirational" and a "rampant lioness".
The SNP may be "tempted" to put candidates up for election in England due to all the support it has received south of the border.
In an interview with the Big Issue, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said she been in touch with people in England and found the London branch of her party is "booming".
The party is said to have about 1,000 members in England after reporting a jump in membership applications from south of the border after Ms Sturgeon's performance in TV debates before the 2015 general election.
In the interview with Scottish actor Alan Cumming, Ms Sturgeon said: "I'm tempted ... There are a lot (of people) in England - a lot who contact me - who feel completely disenfranchised that there is nobody speaking up for them.
"Our London branch is booming at the moment."
Cumming, who described Ms Sturgeon as "inspirational" in the article, joined the SNP leader on the campaign trail during the 2014 Scottish independence referendum.
He added: "She is the well-mannered yet rampant lioness and we are her lucky cubs."
A remark which has been greeted by near-universal in Scotland.
I swear the wretched woman has finally lost it.

Re: AFTER BREXIT
The latest embarrassments from the SNP:
Michelle Thomson has been reported to prosecutors in Scotland after police concluded a probe into allegations of mortage fraud. The Edinburgh West MP is named along with four other individuals following an investigation into solicitor Christopher Hales. Mr Hales was struck off by the Scottish Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal (SSDT) in 2014 in connection with a number of transactions carried out by a property firm in which Ms Thomson was a partner in 2010-11. Last year, police were instructed by prosecutors to carry out a probe into ‘alleged irregularities’ relating to property deals during that time period. Ms Thomson, 51, was one of the 56 SNP MPs elected to the House of Commons in May 2015, but resigned the party whip when the investigation was launched last year. Ms Thomson denies any wrongdoing. A spokesperson for the Crown Office said: “The procurator fiscal has received a report concerning four men aged 48, 56, 59 and 59 and one woman aged 51 in relation to alleged incidents between June 2010 and July 2011.” Police Scotland confirmed that a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in ‘relation to an investigation into alleged mortgage fraud’.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4029342/Russian-hackers-probably-fixed-EU-referendum-vote-Brexit-says-Remoaner-MP-Ben-Bradshaw.html
Russian hackers 'probably' swayed the historic EU referendum vote for Brexit, a former Cabinet minister has claimed.
Labour MP Ben Bradshaw, a prominent Remain supporter, raised doubts about the validity of the result in June as he warned that people were underestimating the extent of cyber-warfare by Vladimir Putin.
Mr Bradshaw was mocked for the comments. One senior Tory deemed them worthy of Soviet-era propaganda paper Pravda while another said Britain was a 'long way from the Cold War if it's now Labour MPs who invent Russian subversion'.
Lunatic.
Has he forgotten that the UK uses paper ballots that are counted manually?

The wealthy businesswoman and campaigner, who was the public face of the legal action in the High Court over giving parliament a say in the country leaving the EU, has now said that the House of Lords, the country’s upper house, should also be given a “proper debate” on the issue.
Ms Miller said that if the Supreme Court rejects the Government appeal against the High Court ruling, Mrs May should not try to bypass the Lords...etc.
Or Mrs Smug Rich should grasp that she had one vote, same as the rest of us, and it is way, way past time she stopped using her money - or Soros' - to subvert democracy just because she lost.
Ghastly, arrogant woman.
