Russian national election violations allegations

Violations claims growing in Russian national election

MOSCOW (AP) — Complaints of election violations were increasing Sunday as Russians voted for a new national parliament. The voting for the 450 seats in the State Duma, the lower house of parliament, was not expected to substantially change the distribution of power, in which the pro-Kremlin United Russia party holds an absolute majority. But the perceived honesty of the election could be a critical factor in whether protests arise following the voting.

It always fascinates me that the western media somehow forget to mention that the main opposition to Putin is, in fact, the Communist party.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_legislative_election,_2011

United Russia won the elections with a 49.32% share of votes (238 seats; 52.88% of Duma seats), down from 64.30% (70% of seats) in the 2007 elections. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation received 19.19% (92 seats), while the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia got 11.67% (56 seats) and A Just Russia 13.24% (64 seats). Other parties did not cross the 7% election threshold, and the list of parties in the parliament did not change.

You wouldn't even know there WAS a Communist party from most of these reports.

http://news.sky.com/story/dip-in-support-for-vladimir-putins-party-in-election-10584192

Support for Vladimir Putin's party appears to have dipped in Russia's parliamentary elections, preliminary results suggest.

The ruling United Russia was still the largest party, receiving 44.5% of votes, according to an exit poll.

This compared to 49% in the previous election five years ago.

Liberal opposition parties, the only group openly critical of President Putin, reportedly failed to get over the 5% threshold needed for party representation.

The nationalist LDPR was said to be in second place with 15.3% of the votes, followed by the Communist party on 14.9% and the Just Russia party on 8.1%.

United Russia was created by Mr Putin 15 years ago and is headed by Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev.

The runners-up are even more authoritanian than Putin.

I wish to stress, I have no great love for the Russian communist party, Lily, but it annoys me that this picture is painted of brave little Russians straining to get free of Putin, if only someone would regime-change and Freedum them.

When in reality, Putin goes = someone even worse becomes president.

It annoys me - as you may have guessed biggrin - that the Western media paints a totally false picture of Russian politics, Lily.

Reality is that, if Putin goes, some West-funded progressive doesn't become President. No, Russia is taken over by some truly hellish coalition of the communists and ultra-nationalists, which I really don't think would be awfully good for the world - or Russia.

We should let the media try it out, all by themselves, first.

https://www.rt.com/viral/359922-kadyrov-chechnya-armor-video/

The head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov wowed his all-female audience in Grozny by turning up to a ceremonial event dressed as a medieval warrior, complete with a rather large spear.
To celebrate Chechen Women’s Day on Sunday, he turned up to the Safiya Palace of celebrations in the capital, Grozny, wearing rather unusual attire: a suit of armor, complete with helmet and spear.

None of this namby-pamby safe space nonsense for Ramzan, then. rofl rofl rofl
