Oh God, there's just been a shot of that Nana harridan! The ex-pats aren't exactly covering themselves with glory - I am not in the least bit surprised they tried to sweep the attacks on holidaying children under the carpet.

And in an old clip, not previously broadcast, Amoral has just told a HUGE porky.

Clarrie's on, talking about the sheer idiocy of Team Gonzo not wanting the media told a child was missing.

I would love to know just what Gonzo's problem with the publicity really was.

Just a reminder of Sandra F.s reaction when she found out she'd been lied to about the 'DNA results':

That concerns the interview Morais censored.

Oh, dog-dissing in progress!

Explaining why the very idea of 'Madeleine's DNA' being found in the hire car is utterly, completely, ridiculous.

Oh, Gonzo and POLITICAL INTERFERENCE - always a favourite.

Deputy head of PJ making it crystal clear that the McCanns are NOT suspects, and giving the distinct impression they shouldn't have been arguido-ed in the first place.

Ex-PM Socrates laughing at Amoral's delusions of grandeur was most entertaining.

Sun pressurizing government to reopen case; Jim Gamble says one thing about the lead-up to that, Theresa May says another.

Heri's on talking about the burglaries in that apartment block.

Not a bad programme - but the haters will hear and see something different from normal people. Mind you, they won't like the dog-dissing.

But he can't have been much of a detective if he didn't check out the content first....conspiraloonacy, obscene 'theories', vile 'poems', crude pro-Gonzo propaganda,  it's all there. Why would he want to be associated with the Hounders? Does he have a book to flog or something?

I confess to being rather out of sympathy with the ex-pats in PDL.

For years, they denied there were problems in the area with burglaries and other crimes. For years, they swept attacks on sleeping children under the carpet.

It's not Madeleine's abduction itself that gives PDL a bad name - it's the fact that so many of them have covered up for criminals for years. That 'Nana' woman is particularly awful.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's the ex-pats that have been spreading so many scurrilous lies about the McCann family on social media, posing as 'my neighbour's cousin's hairdresser'. Their property values come first!

They make the same point, over and over again - Portuguese culture is strongly family-focused and parents there would never have left their children alone.

Really? Then why is the Portuguese media awash with the most disgusting cases of child abuse - the penalties for which are even lighter than in the UK?

That seems to be something they trot out For English eyes.

This is why I would't go to PdL. Apart from that, it is probably the safest place on earth. Except for it's poisons atmosphere.

To me, it's not even particularly appealing, visually. Almost nothing of the original village seems to be left, and it seems to be mainly concrete blocks, inhabited by leather-faced ex-pats like 'Nana'. IMO, there's something rather claustrophobic about it, too, with those lowering cliffs and the narrow beach.

No, there are much nicer holiday resorts in Portugal and elsewhere.

I did spend three holidays in Val de Lobo, back at the time of the Two Revolutions. There really is no comparison. Val de Lobo is gloriously luxurious. Some friends of mine owned a house there, and still do. They arranged for us to rent a villa next door which was just as nice, including a daily cleaning service. I thought all of the rented accommodation on The Algarve was just as good, until I saw Praia da Luz. What a shock I got.

There's something almost bleak about PDL, IMO, Sabot. And 5a was scarcely luxurious - it was verging on the spartan, in fact.

Look at the church:

It's quite an attractive building - but it looks as if it was just plonked down there, no flower beds, no softness to break up hard edges. Wierd.
