Missing People
Charity Registration No. 1020419

Missing People offer a lifeline for the 250,000 people who run away and go missing each year. For those left behind we provide specialised support to ease the heartache and confusion, and help search for their missing loved ones.

My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am really grateful to everyone who has sponsored Gerry and me to take part in the previous Miles for Missing People 10K runs. I'm hoping that you might be willing once again to dig deep to help the charity Missing People - a hugely important organisation which offers a lifeline to everybody affected by a disappearance.

Your support can make a difference to the many missing children and vulnerable adults in our country, as well as to their families who are suffering without them.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please help if you can and donate now. Thank you!

============

Wow, over £1,000 raised already! What a great cause! smile

Naturally, the forkers have their talons out already:

And I only pocket most of the donations as i'm the administrator of this site and sitting on my backside takes time and effort when you're writing a new booook..........er i mean......collecting donations for people that vanish into thin air.

Absolutely disgusting - and outright libel, not only of Kate McCann, but also of the charity.

And they wonder why they get called 'haters'.

Shocking, but predictable:

I think i'll keep an eye on this 'new' page and see how much of these 'donations' actually reaches the OFFICIAL charity.
Why not just 'donate' directly to the OFFICIAL charity's page?
Why do you have to go VIA a subsiduary page set up by KM?
If it smells like a scam and looks like a scam then it probably is a SCAM!
The OFFICIAL charity HAS to register and acknowlege ALL donations 'received'

Have these goldfish-brains forgotten LAST year's fundraising run already?

And I wonder how the officials at the charity would react to be libelled in this manner?

Review into Madeleine case is 'a huge step forward', say the McCanns ahead of 10k run for missing people

The parents of Madeleine McCann said today a police review of her case was 'a huge step' in the effort to help trace the missing girl.
A team of detectives in Portugal has been re-appointed to re-examine the original investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance, after she vanished while on a family holiday in the Algarve almost five years ago.
It follows a review by Scotland Yard officers which began last May.

Kate McCann Runs Miles For Missing People - Update On Successful Fundraiser Article-0-123617D6000005DC-349_634x613

Speaking ahead of a 10 kilometre run for a missing people’s charity in Regent’s Park, London, Gerry McCann said: 'We’re 10 months into the Met’s review process and it’s important for us.
'It’s taken pressure off us, knowing the police are actually reviewing everything. It’s a huge step for us.'
Madeleine was nearly four when she went missing from her family’s holiday flat in Praia da Luz, in the Algarve, in May 2007 as her parents Kate and Gerry dined with friends nearby.

The McCanns were joined by hundreds of families and friends of other missing people for the charity run in Regent’s Park, including Peter Lawrence, father of missing York chef Claudia Lawrence, and Rachel Elias, sister of rock star Richey Edwards, rhythm guitarist and co-lyricist of the Manic Street Preachers.
Almost 1,000 runners took part in this year's Miles for Missing People event.
Organised by the charity Missing People, the 10km run aims to raise funds for its 24-hour lifeline which offers support to families of missing people across the UK.
Kate McCann said: 'It's a cause and a charity very close to our hearts. We've been able to meet people who are in similar situations. Although each experience is unique, we are all going through that fight and pain of not having a loved one with us.'

I must say, Kate McCann looks really well in this photo:

She looks as if a huge weight has been taken off her shoulders - so here's hoping Porto PJ and the Yard can find Madeleine and bring her safely home.

Malty, I doubt if one single one of them has done anything at all of benefit to society today, let alone run 10k; their bitterness almost jumps through the screen.

Just watch, they will be even worse if Kate's photo is in the Sundays.

That will be getting up the forkers' noses too - it gives the lie to all the hot air and bombast being emitted by Team Gonc, and makes a nonsense of their ridiculous tick-tocking.

Maddie parents hail police review

MISSING Maddie McCann's parents today declared a police review of the search for their daughter a "huge step".
Gerry and Kate said the new team of detectives examining the original investigation nearly five years ago was a massive boost.

It comes after a review by Scotland Yard officers which began last May into Maddie's disappearance during a family holiday in the Algarve.

The couple spoke ahead of a 10k run missing people's charity in Regent's Park, London.

Gerry said: "We're ten months into the Met's review process and it's important for us.
"It's taken pressure off us, knowing the police are actually reviewing everything. It's a huge step for us."

And this is the kind of spite that the forkers are coming out with:

Get those photo's to Amaral and show the b**gers up for what they are.

'What they are'???? Then that would be the parents of a missing child, who are praying she can still be found and reunited with them.

Who can channel their own fears and worries into a useful activity, which raises money for charity and helps keep the spotlight on other missing people.

As opposed to Gonc, who seems unable to do anything except waddle to Dear Julia's couch with his cronies to spout bile and lies.

It is a well know fact that exercise helps depression, and helps to take the mind off depressing things.
Gonc couldn't even walk from the nearest Bar to The Police Station. He had to have a car.

The forkers also seem devoid of the qualities for which British people were once admired - stiff upper lips, and all that.

How often have we seen them saying, If it was me, I would off [sic] been tearing my hair out and wailing and going round on my hands and knees.......and similar emotional incontinence?

Yet if the McCanns have the effrontery to show any emotion at all, they are accused of 'faking it' - nothing they do will ever be right with these creatures.

Yes, Bonny. Some of us don't actually cry in public because it doesn't help. It's the way we were brought up.
Besides, I seem to remember Karen Matthews crying all over the telly, and them all cheering her on. They seem to have forgotten that.

How would they act if their child was taken?
Well let's see. Screaming and pulling hair out results in baldness along with sore throat, and does nothing to find the child.
Statements of 'if that was me' is idiotic statements. Until you are in the situation you don't know what you would do.
We have web-sites that give you clear instructions on what to do and I believe you will find the McCanns followed them to the letter.

Funny how they never mention that the person who totally went AGAINST police best practise was their beloved Gonc, who wanted to hush Madeleine's disappearance up.

Now, why would a policeman do that?

Kate McCann Runs Miles For Missing People - Update On Successful Fundraiser Empty Re: Kate McCann Runs Miles For Missing People - Update On Successful Fundraiser

Post  crazytony Sun Mar 18, 2012 2:55 pm

This is from the parent of a missing child

I too am the parent of a missing child. I truly know what it means to miss your child so badly that you ache inside, to cry until it is impossible to cry another tear and to feel guilty that the tears won't come. I have also felt the guilt that comes with laughter and the overwhelming aloneness that no one ever understands. I live with a deep, deep sorrow that threatens to overtake me -- I feel that if I cannot hold it at bay I will cross some invisible line and simply never make it back.

And yet, I have survived. In spite of the fact that sometimes I wish I would not. I simply do. Finding a balance between the unbelievable pain & sadness and the ability to survive becomes our life issue. To fight for our children we have to survive. In spite of the pain. In spite of the sadness. In spite of the scum that lives and breathes when we do not know if our children live and breathe. And if by some chance our children do not make it home, and there is no hope for them, then we fight to convict and eradicate the person who stole them from us. It is for all of these things that we must survive. We must also survive because if we don't, then the person who took our child wins. And it is my firm belief that the person who took my child will not steal one more thing from my family.

A reporter interviewed me the other day. They wanted to do a 'personal' story on who I really am, deep down inside. :-) They would all be amazed if they saw how scared I am sometimes, how very, very sad. Everyone says to me "You are the strongest person I have ever met." Sometimes I think I will just punch the next person who says that in the nose! The reporter asked me lots of personal questions, which I basically sidestepped, and then asked "What do you do when you are all alone?" My answer? Cry. I know you understand what it means to cry tears that no one else understands. The tears you hold inside that threaten to explode at any given moment, but you only release when you are all alone. But even those tears are part of our survival.

I am proud of you for hanging in there as long as you have. You are not crazy. You are not alone. I wish that all of us weren't here, but we are. And now, we are all here for each other. We understand the feelings, the anger, the sadness, the need to laugh and the out-of-control ride of this huge and powerful roller coaster.

If you don't already, I would encourage you to make a journal of the things going on around you, both good and bad. When the lovely, warm memories surface, write them down. When the terrible thoughts, feelings and events overtake you, write them down. Writing things down gives you some control over events that otherwise seem to be beyond your control.

I am sharing my HOPE with you today. I want you to use it until you feel strong enough to stand on your own again. But please remember that you are not alone anymore. I am here. All of our parent volunteers at Team HOPE are here for you. We are only a phone call or an email away.

Sharing in your hope,
Team HOPE

Kate McCann Runs Miles For Missing People - Update On Successful Fundraiser Miles_for_missing2012

Saturday, 17 March, 2012

On Saturday, Gerry and I, along with our friends and hundreds of other runners ran in the 'Miles for Missing People' 10K event in Regent's Park, London.

It was greatly encouraging - judging from the brilliant turnout - to see that the weather and resulting conditions (rain, wind and mud!) didn't put any of us off. It was also fantastic to have so many children there, participating in the fun run. Well done!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event (including all those who generously sponsored me and other runners). In doing so you have contributed to the essential work done by the team at Missing People, and thereby helped the many missing children and adults, and their families left behind.

And finally, thank you to Missing People for all their hard work and commitment, day in day out, to make the lives of people like ourselves that bit more bearable.

Kate
