We only have one perspective on this, so none of us know whether this man spoke in an abusive manner, or not.

However, his point about a woman, in a full burka, being allowed through airport security without having to show her face, is a valid one.

That should not be allowed. We are facially checked; she should be too.

I think face covering Burkhas should be banned from the streets as they are in France, but this won't happen until someone uses a Burkha in a terrorist attack.
Wearing one going through any airport is insanity, so I don't care how offensive he was.

Sabot, I live in a multicultural area.

Have friends who are Muslims, but they are sensitive just as I try to be sensitive.

During the period of terrorist attacks, when walking throught my town one day, I noticed (noticing is what I am fairly good at) a very long striding woman in a full burkha.

Big feet, wearing mans shoes. Eek

Otherwise quite small and holding a little boys hand, and accompanied by two blokes (minders?). Looked totally innocent to the casual observer.

But, no doubt about it .... a bloke.

Had no phone, but when I got home, I informed the authorities .... too late. of course

I don't have much against wearing headscarves, or even covering their bodies, Sadie. But face covering is surely a bit dangerous in these times. Time will tell, of course, which it probably will.

Not sure about that, Sadie. Some of the women want to. But they are all going to get Ricketts from lack of Vitamin D.

Not always, I agree, but sometimes.

Sometimes, I wonder if it is worn as a finger up at Christians/ western society

... and let's face it, we have been pretty oppressive, especially in centuries past. Even some of our recent wars, they were awful.

Also some of the moral standards, behaviuors, of our youngsters hardly bear scrutiny at times. Thank Gawd they are very much a minority in Society..
