Algarve: Police immediately suspected of crimes in double murder
A Portuguese police officer said on Monday in the trial of German accused of killing an Angolan citizen and daughter both being held in Munich, found that when the victim immediately suspected that there had been a crime.

"Due to the state in which the woman was, I left once assumed that there had been a crime, and immediately told the Judicial Police," said the agent of the Portuguese court in the Bavarian capital, describing the circumstances in which he found Georgina Zito, 30 years in Canavial beach, near Lagos, July 10, 2010.
The witness also said that the body of the Angolan citizen was covered with sand, had scratches on his wrists and shoulders, and was already dead.
Witnesses called an ambulance and the Maritime Police after seeing Gunnar Dorrries, 44, remove the lifeless body of Georgina water. The German engineer told them that the victim had had an epileptic fit, and that would get drugs to assist.

When police arrived, Gunnar Dorries was no longer on the beach but an old man had told witnesses that he had drowned his wife in the water. The police could then identify the elder, based on descriptions received, and this is already to be heard in Munich on Tuesday in court.
According to prosecutors Bavarian Gunnar Dorries have murdered Georgina Zito - with whom he maintained a relationship that did not take, to live with another woman - and both daughter, Alexandra, 21 months, during the holidays he spent with the two, in Lagos. Gunnar had known Georgina in a musical concert in Stuttgart in 2006.
Shortly thereafter, an immigrant from Angola became pregnant with Alexandra, who only met his father in the fateful Algarve holiday. The Portuguese and German police have established that the suspect traveled to Portugal on July 6, in the company of Georgina and Alexandra.

Interesting that the trial is being held in Germany, despite the crime happening in Portugal. I wonder if that is because , despite all those witnesses, the accused somehow or other managed to get out of the country.
