Whitney Houston's Death Ruling

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Cocaine was found in Whitney Houston’s system when she died, according to the final report from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

The report, which was released Thursday, determined Houston’s final cause of death to be from drowning, the effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine intake. The report said that her manner of death was an accident.


A toxicology report found that cocaine and metabolites were identified in Houston’s system and contributed to her death. Other drugs, including marijuana, Xanax, Flexeril and Benadryl were also identified, but did not contribute to Houston’s death, according to the report.

No trauma or foul play was suspected, the report concludes.

Houston, 48, was found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton on Feb. 12, the day before the Grammys.

So Nancy Grace can take a long walk off a short pier. No one pushed Whitney under the water, nor did any doctor over prescribe medication.

Ms Grace is a real ghoul, there seems to be no tragedy so dreadful that she won't exploit it.

Grace and cohorts make me sick.

Everyone knows that Whitney had a long standing addiction to illegal drugs. It's such a shame she never committed to kicking the habit......

Sabot, I do know what you mean. It's just that sometimes super-talented people are just like vulnerable little children. Whether that is right or wrong, good or bad. Plus they have the people around them encouraging it............ Vicious circle.

And their fans all think it is a great idea to do Drugs.

Adulation might well be difficult to cope with. I wouldn't know since I have never had any. But that might be sour grapes on my part, I suppose.

Of course I am sorry that she is dead, but Super Talent is a bit like Free Speech. It carries responsibilities, otherwise it is worthless.

Unfortunately, super talent also brings super wealth, which then brings hangers-on and leeches wanting a cut of the wealth.

It takes a very, very strong personality not to be dragged down, I feel.

Yer. Sorry. Who know what I might have done with Fame and loads a money. I don't think I would have been into Drugs because they scare me too much. But I might have overdone it on The Champagne and Single Malt.

Sadly, for every Tina Turner, there must be a dozen Amy Whitehouses - women seem especially vulnerable to exploitation by scumbags.

Tina Turner is a committed Buddhist and I think that is a big reason why she is so strong.

I love her music so much.

The Medical Examiner said on television last night; had her heart disease not been so bad, the cocain would not have killed her.

Wow, Tony. But, did the cocaine abuse cause or exacerbate her heart problems? Doesn't it cause the heart to race?

ETA: I cannot google the above problem relative to the heart as it's a banned topic from where I am.

There is no doubt her drug abuse over the years led to her heart disease, lily.
She was alive but unconscious when she went under the water as their was fluid in the lungs. And yes, the cocain would have cause her heart to race setting off a heart attack.
