Thanks, Pedro. I must confess, I am fascinated by the saga of the tolls:

http://www.algarveresident.com/0-46416/algarve/a22-tolls-fail-easter-test

quote:

Algarve Socialist MP Miguel Freitas says the government is to blame for the lack of information on the tolls available to visitors.

He said: “The Algarve has fallen victim to an absurd toll payment system during this vital period as far as tourism is concerned. The lack of information and assistance to visitors places the credibility of the country at risk.

“A major campaign in Spain to inform potential visitors to the Algarve of how they can pay for the tolls online would have been useful as assistance at the border during the Easter week was clearly missing,” he said, adding that the recent chaos should serve as a lesson to the government in order to prevent further incidents in future.

I thought only the UK government could dream up something as idiotic as that, but they seem to have counterparts in Portugal.

Yes bb1, I agree with ou.

What I know is that Spanish people enters in Portugal through roads without tolls, which increases their visits at restaurants, coffee-shops, handicraft, etc, which is good for traders from those areas.

That's a very good point, Pedro, they will go to areas which have been less visited than those on the big roads?
