Those who sneer at the search for Madeleine McCann are denying that little girl’s humanity

EVEN now, people still say – why should we care about Madeleine McCann?

Children go missing every day, they say.

Too much attention has been paid to this one child.

If the mother was a tattooed benefit-claimer from a sink estate, we would look away.

They are missing the point.

We care about the fate of this one missing child because, if we are parents, we can recognise the bottomless pit of pain that consumes Kate McCann.

And we know, if we are honest, that it could happen to any of us.

Do we care less about the mugged pensioner because lots of pensioners get mugged?

Do we turn away from the maimed soldier because many soldiers are maimed?

Those who sneer at the search for Madeleine McCann are denying that little girl’s humanity.

And their own.

That is an excellent piece, Rose. The forkers, hounders and haters have been especially repellent over the past few days, with their pretence of caring about Madeleine McCann and their sicko poems about angels.

Truth is, they don't care about Madeleine, or any child - they enjoy spouting hate too much to have any room for compassion.

They've done nothing but sneer all week, while pretending that they care ever-so-much with execrable pomes. It really will break their hearts - assuming they have hearts - when Madeleine is found.

You have to wonder why they never, ever condemn the scum that abducted Madeleine, don't you? And why they turn a blind eye to previous unsolved child abductions in Portugal.

Why aren't they outraged about the Rui Pedro case? Oh wait, I know. That would involve facing reality - that the likes of them aid and abet child abductors every time they post their bile.

The funniest thing is that in a Fascist State these are the people who would be most at risk from those dratted Police Station Stairs. And being totally devoid of any level of intellect would be the most likely to be stitched up by The Fascist Police they most admire. I wonder why they can't see that?

Just for once, the target wasn't Madeleine or her parents, but that anyone could post such unspeakable, sick obscenities - what the Hell goes on in their 'minds'?

Not so long ago, people like that well-known 'anti' blogger and those freaks making vile remarks about Madeleine would have been kept well away from the rest of society.

I don't need to read what this well-known anti blogger wrote, I can guess, even though I have no idea which one of them it was. My son says they remind him of kids playing 'chicken' on an autoroute, but also said that unfortunately they never get hit. Sort of dare and dare. LL
