It opens up an interesting debate, Pedro. Other tweets from this person have appeared in the UK press, and it's no wonder he has been charged.

BUT - they are still not as bad as the obscenities and threats posted on #mccann by the haters, hounders and forkers.

If twitter won't police itself, then they cannot complain if the real police step in.

THE dad of a teenager arrested yesterday over vile abuse sent to Tom Daley has apologised to the star — and said his son “badly needs help”.
Reece Messer, 17, was held at 2.45am in a guest house after a tip-off.

The arrest came hours after a Twitter user told the Team GB diver “You have let your dad down” — just over a year after Tom, 18, lost devoted dad Rob to brain cancer. And the user later tweeted: “I’m going to drown you in the pool you cocky t*** your a nobody.”

Reece’s dad Norman, who was told of the arrest in Weymouth, Dorset, by The Sun, said: “Reece badly needs help. The police should be involved, but he doesn’t know what he’s saying. He has ADHD but doesn’t take his medicine.”

Dad-of-11 Norman, who lives in Boscombe, Dorset, added: “I just want to say sorry to Tom Daley. I wish to apologise as Reece’s father and wish him every success.”

Dorset Police said last night a 17-year-old had “been issued with a harassment warning in connection to tweets to Tom Daley” and bailed while they probe his account further.

His father sounds like a waste of space, frankly. If his son is as bad as all that, then his father should be doing something about it, not dumping his problem onto other people.

All of these Twitter morons seem to have Mental Health Issues, or Criminal Tendencies. But I suppose that this should be obvious to anyone.
But at least we know where most of them are most of the time.
