Scunthorpe parents warned after attempted child abduction
The suspect was described as a white man driving a 5-door black car
Parents in Scunthorpe have been warned to be vigilant after the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl in the town.
Humberside Police said a driver stopped his car on St Anne's Crescent, leant out of the window and grabbed the girl by the elbow.
The girl hit out at the driver and ran away. She was uninjured.
The incident happened at about 15:00 BST on 5 October. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
The suspect, described as a white man, was driving a black, five-door car with a badge on the front of the bonnet that stood up.
Police said the victim told them a woman was in the area when the attack happened.
Det Insp John Symes, from Scunthorpe Police Station, said: "At this stage it is unclear what this man wanted but clearly he has caused great alarm to the young girl involved and we are very keen to identify the driver as well as the woman witness."

Do I not remember a picture of a scummy individual from Scunthorpe who could have been bald under that hat and who seemed to be the owner of a black car?
