Police arrest sex offenders

Two men were arrested last week by the Polícia Judiciária – one a suspected paedophile and the other an alleged rapist.

The two men are now being held in custody, awaiting trial.

A PJ officer said that one of the men had been arrested on suspicion of carrying out sexual abuse of a child over a period of four years, since the suspected victim was 10 years old.

The other, a 63-year-old foreign man, is alleged to have raped a 55-year-old woman in Albufeira with whom he had once shared a relationship.

I hope they don't just get a slap on the wrist; I was horrified when I read about the GRN officer who had been prostituting children in his family.

Judge releases baker who violates child
The boy was six years in the care of the neighbor on the evening of September 10 when he was raped by the son of the owner of the house, Baker 28, who attacked him in bed where he slept. The event occurred near Swindon. The victim reported the crime to her father the next day, the Institute of Forensic Medicine confirmed the lesions that are compatible with anal rape - but the judge decided to release the suspect.

Where this myth has come from that Portugal 'comes down heavily' on child abusers I do not know - in reality, it is even weaker than the UK.

typical Portuguese courts behaviour, what else to expect from a corrupt country who protects paedophiles or rapists, the police aprehends them, the courts release these criminals, no wonder that police have no credibility (together with courts), with this type of pre-historic justice system, who protects criminals. If a policemen kills (in self-defence) a criminal who tried to kill the policemen, the policemen is presented to court and is sent to jail, but, a criminal is released with sentence of being at his home, free, of course, although, under court´s order of being presented three times a week at the GNR station. What a stupidity from the judge of the court. The sentence should have been: you will be sent to jail, all the inmates will know what you are, will know what you did, the inmates will punish you.
