The likes of Luz are trying to divert around the truth - that Amoral appealed against his perjury conviction two years ago AND LOST.

The conviction was confirmed:

Court in Evora confirms sentence of ex-inspector Gonçalo Amaral

GONC APPEALED AGAINST CONVICTION TWO YEARS AGO AND LOST Ng1556297

The Évora refuted the existence of "unconstitutionality and nullity" in judgment which upheld the conviction of former inspectors of the Judicial Police (PJ) in the case of attacks on Leonor Cipriano, Joana's mother, child missing in the Algarve in 2004.

On 18 March this year, the Court of Appeal upheld the conviction of former PJ inspector Gonçalo Amaral and António Nunes Cardoso, with suspended sentences, the Court of Faro in 2009, but the latter former agent requested "clarification and reform of judgment. "
According to judicial sources, the Évora understood that "lacks reason," the application of António Nunes Cardoso, sentenced to two years and three months imprisonment with suspended sentence for the crime of document forgery. Understand yet the appellate court that the appeal of Évora "extravassa fully the scope allowed to a request for clarification or adduction of errors, oversights, or obscurities nonentities."
In the decision of the resources of the former inspectors, reported on 18 March 2011, the ratio also remained a sentence of one year and six months in prison for the crime of making false allegations, suspended on probation, applied to Gonçalo Amaral, former coordinator of the Criminal Investigation Department in Portimão.

Following the decision of the Appeal, Marcos Aragão Correia, Leonor Cipriano's lawyer, filed a complaint against the Portuguese state at the United Nations for violating "gross the most basic human rights." The lawyer said the agency Lusa that the conviction and ordered the expulsion of Portugal's Commission on Human Rights of the United Nations.
The case of attacks on Leonor Cipriano was tried in Faro in 2009, but the Court of Faro did not determine the authorship of the attacks on the mother of Joana. Besides Gonçalo Amaral, acquitted of the crime of failure to report abuse, and António Nunes Cardoso, was also judged the former inspector Paulo Pereira Cristovao Morgado Leonel Marques and still active agent and Paulo Marques Good Paulo Pereira Cristovao, Leonel Marques Morgado and Paulo Marques Bom were acquitted.

Now, here's the thing.

Luz and co know perfectly well that Gonc lost his appeal and the sentence was upheld.

Indeed, if I am counting correctly, he has now served the sentence.

So why didn't she just say that, and provide a link to one of the Portuguese media stories?

Why didn't she simply tell the truth when answering a perfectly reasonable question?

So funny, isn't it? And why his cult are deluding themselves that the recent bizarre events in Faro are going to change anything, I do not know.

It is a matter of law that Leonor Cipriano was tortured in police custody; the dispute is about who did it. And there is certainly no doubt about Amoral's role in the cover-up.

I suspect Leonor Cipriano will appeal against that peculiar verdict, and then we might get to the truth.

Perish the thought that Arguido Cristovao - one of those accused of actual torture - has been keeping 'dossiers' on people outwith the sporting world. Wink

That fakelily person:

Amaral would certainly be given leave to appeal in the UK if the main witness for the prosecution had been convicted of perjury in the same case.

Does she suffer from some kind of comprehension problem? Or does she just believe what she's told by Morais?

1. The torture of Leonor Cipriano is not in question. It has been held proven by several Portuguese courts.

2. Amoral's role in the cover-up of said torture is not in question. It has been held proven by several Portuguese courts.

3. What is in question is the exact identity of the thugs who did it. Any normal court would have ordered a full investigation into just who they were. That this Algarve court didn't, is the cause of remarks about Cristovao and dossiers as he is one of the alleged torturers.

4. The PJ themselves seem to be in little doubt, as they are seeking to remove police pensions and privileges from the alleged torturers.

I don't think so, somehow.

The whole business is especially repugnant when one remembers that that other forkers' favourite, Tavares de Almeida, has been convicted of ACTUAL torture in a separate case.

And this is what the Gonc Cult defend? Go figure.

I know, Sabot - if he can carry on like that in front of the police, he is capable of ANYTHING. No wonder the man on the left of the pic is looking at him so strangely....

Has it sunk in with the Gonc Cult yet what Gonc did? By claiming that Leonor Cipriano sustained those injuries on the dangerous stairs in Faro PJ station, he admitted that she was beaten up there.

The only question is, By whom? And this is not going to go away until that question is answered.

Look now, Bonny. The PJ know who beat her up. They know who was in the Police Station at the relevant times.
Absolutely no point in citing The Logs because anyone who was doing the beating wouldn't actually have signed in.
They also know who wasn't in Lisbon who should have been.

Possibly quite difficult to prove any of this. But they know.

Let us not forget that according to hopefully-former PJ employee FSoares, Amoral imported the thugs from Lisbon:

http://studiesindiseasedsubjects.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/FSoares

He once implied he had a very good knowledge about Joana's case and also about the details of the alleged 'torture' commited by the officers who were brought from Lisbon, under Amaral's orders.

The torture has been proven; now their identities should be, too.

But how do you go about it, Bonny? None of the perpetrators are going to admit it, and certainly not Amaral. And balance of probability isn't good enough for a Court of Law.
It might be good enough for The PJ itself, but they are taking their time.

However, The Court of Human Rights might have more success, but even that takes years.

Nothing we personally can do, Sabot, besides keep track of it. These stories being recorded on English-language sites means the media are aware of them, and the lovely little bots pick them up in English for the benefit of anyone using Google.

As to what happens, well, events have a habit of ruining schemes - who could have forseen Cristovao's downfall? No-one can predict what the next twist in the story will be. But there's no way this disgusting cover-up by dirty cops is going to go on forever, it's spoken about too openly in Portugal now.

No wonder Amoral looks dreadful - tick tock and all that.

I see Fakelilly was twisting again:

If the provenance of the photographs are in doubt so surely is what they portray ?

Why didn't she tell the truth? That it was the defence team that, ludicrously, tried to claim that they'd been photoshopped?

Why didn't she tell the truth? That that risible claim was thrown out by the court?

Why can't they face the fact that a woman was tortured whilst in the custody of Faro PJ? Do they seriously think that Amnesty International just parrot what's in CdM when they make reports?

No, they don't - they investigate, especially in European nations that are supposed to be democracies:

http://www.amnesty.org/en/region/portugal/report-2012

In March, the Court of Appeal of Evora confirmed an earlier ruling that Leonor Cipriano had been tortured while in police custody in 2004, but that it could not identify those responsible. Leonor Cipriano had yet to receive compensation from the state. Gonçalo de Sousa Amaral and António Fernandes Nuno Cardoso, senior officials in the judicial police, had been sentenced to 18 months’ and 27 months’ imprisonment respectively, for falsely claiming Leonor Cipriano had fallen down the stairs. However, both sentences were suspended on the grounds that the officers had no previous criminal convictions.

Hearings in the trial of three police officers, accused of torturing Virgolino Borges while in police custody in March 2000, took place in November and December. Virgolino Borges was asked to give his testimony again as the recording had allegedly been lost due to technical problems.

Please note, hoho's other hero, Tavares de Almeida of the discredited 'Intercalary Report' has since been found guilty of the actual torture of Virgolino Borges.

It's a bit like Jeremy Bamber saying his Father phoned him to say Sheila had gone berserk with a rifle and was then finished off in the kitchen by Sheila. But since it has been proven that Sheila was never in the kitchen, due to lack of broken glass anywhere about her person, then he had to have been lying about the phone call from his Father. So it can only have been Jeremy who killed his Father.
