The basic difference from other missing children is that both Ben and Madeleine were abducted in foreign countries where the investigations were badly handled.

Sadly, Ben's mother didn't have access to The Internet, or the know how to adequately pursue the abduction of her child.

Both children were let down by The British Authorities, among others. And I for one have had enough of this. British Subjects carry a passport that gives then freedom of passage, and a right to protection. I don't wish to hear anymore about Greek and Portuguese Investigations having rights over British Citizens when they are clearly incapable at best, and disinterested, if not actually corrupt at worst.

There will be outrage if another missing British child is ever treated with such distain by their own Government.
