Why on earth would he go out that way, where he could be seen by anyone in the tapas restaurant, when he could hear Gerry McCann and Wilkins talking in the lane, and had to go the long way round to reach the car park by the front door, which was in virtual pitch darkness?

The photo was taken from the third floor of the building across the street. There was some shrubbery along the left wall of the parking lot that has been removed but the view of the McCanns door and window would not have been obscured (I must add since I have been rightly corrected and I have doublechecked the photos at that time, there are trees also lining the back side on the street, it is difficult to say today if one is high up looking down from one balcony or the other, who can see the window). My purpose of this photo was to show that the window and door of 5A was not a location that was as hidden from view as one might think.

What would Mr. Predator do if he crawled out of the window with a child to find a car pulling in to park right there in the lot? He would be trapped. He still has to walk down that little path, turn right out the opening into the parking lot, come back down along the wall, then cross the parking lot, go out of the parking lot, turn right and walk down to the corner and cross the street - where Jane Tanner supposedly saw him.

You are right, Bonny. The woman is an idiot. Bundleman definitely left by the front door. Gerry was close to the bottom of the steps leading down from the apartment patio doors. And Jane Tanner witnessed bundleman carrying a girl who almost certainly was Madeleine. There were no fibres, dirt or scratckes on the window frame. He entered and left by the front door. And had a key, or a technique to enter.

When I went, it was almost pitch black by that front door. There had had been a full moon the previous night to the abduction, so the recess would have been very dark but perhaps not totally black. Even the PJ photograph has additional illumination in that front door deep recess. [Maybe it was so dark that additional illumination was needed to enable a photograph?]


Can anyone remember, was there a problem with that front door outside light? I seem to remember that it wasn't working. Can anyone enlighten me on that, please?


Amaral himself, in "his findings" to prove that Madeleine died in 5A and his hypothesis to prove it, said that no man would risk going in thru 5A patio doors, when they were overlooked by the parents who were only 50 metres away. His hypothesis was endorsed by various senior peeps (PJ and Judiciary IIRC).

This hypotheseis appears to have been whooshed from the internet now, since it was destroyed by incredulous peeps on forums, including impressively by pfa2. Does anyone know where a copy of this statement can be found? Please
These findings were much publicized at the time

Showing how the front door recess on the PJ photo is seemingly lightened by a floodlight, presumably because the recessed area was too black to photograph. From the splay of the light in that recess [only a bit showing at left of photo] and adjoining walkway wall, it seems that the floodlight was a little to the left of the photographer and about 4 feet off the ground.

The lighted area fades higher up, but goes around the corner so it is not the apartment recess outside light. That could not illuminate around the corner.

Thanks Bonny for those photos. Even the top photo by the PJ is not accurate as far as light was concerned. There is added lighting to the front doorway end of that walkway. Compare the LH of two pictures together which is the start of the front door recess. It was really dark by that front door and quite deeply recessed.

Remember the trees have been cut down so light streams in now, where it was dark before ... and there is an additional overhead light in Pats photos

Isn't it interesting, though, that Brown is clearly reading round the sites that support Madeleine and her parents, to have done such an extensive rewrite?

The forkers just told her she was Very Clever and had Cracked the Case; Stella the hounder was about the only one who tried to point out that she was wrong, and got accused of undermining Patsy for her pains.

Brown seems to have total contempt for the forkers.
