Family Rui Pedro asks annulment of judgment

Parents of missing child 14 years ago to consider acquittal of Afonso Dias was based on unconstitutional evidence : the testimony of the first team of PJ who investigated the case.

The appeal was delivered this week the Court of Appeal of Porto and Ricardo Sá Fernandes, lawyer for the family of Rui Pedro, argues that the acquittal of Afonso Dias, the sole defendant, is based on the testimony of three of the PJ inspectors who began by investigating the disappearance of lower court and reported in informal conversations that are not in the process.

These conversations descredibilizaram decisively Days Alcina's testimony, the prostitute who have been granted in court with Rui Pedro on March 4, 1998, when the child was last seen alive again.

The court gave as evidence that Rui Pedro entered the car Afonso Dias, but he was no doubt that the accused have taken the child to the place where he was Alcina Days. When in doubt acquitted Afonso Dias, who was accused of taking the child from 11 years for a sexual encounter with a prostitute, and not from any responsibility in the disappearance of the boy.

Inspectors accused of lying

On appeal, Ricardo Sá Fernandes accused the inspectors of the PJ of lying in court and argues that the repetition of the judgment is inevitable.

The prosecution also appealed the acquittal and the Attorney Elina Afonso Dias Cardoso argues that the facts proven in court are sufficient to condemn the crime of Afonso Dias aggravated kidnapping.

Rui Pedro Mendonça vanished on March 4, 1998. Afonso Dias, who was a friend of the boy, was charged 13 years after having been kidnapped for a meeting with a prostitute, but the court acquitted him of Lousada.

I assume Morais and her ilk will carry on ignoring this scandal? Will they follow the example of João Rouxinol of the PJ and concoct a few lies to smear Rui Pedro's parents?
