The 31-year-old Amsterdam Efthima D. is senteced to pay damages of EUR 70,000 ( £56,335.94) to U.S. filmmaker Christopher Johnson and actress Mariana Tosca for digitally stalk of the two. The woman was also ordered by a penalty to remove within seven days, all nasty messages about them, published on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, blogs and various websites.
The Amsterdam court has determined that this type of stalking is penalized. Lawer Cees Nierop, filed the lawsuit on behalf of the American duo. He calls the verdict special. His U.S. clients Johnson and Tosca are satisfied with the decision of the Dutch court. According to Nierop, the two suffered damage by the smear campaign on the Internet.
