Bishop caught in luxury holiday with wife

The Vatican is considering whether to punish or force the resignation of Bishop of the diocese of Marlo-Moreno, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The priest was photographed embracing in attitudes and intimate with a woman at a luxury resort on the Mexican coast. As was revealed, the two have a romance for months (watch video) Fernando Maria Bargallo, 59, is bishop of the diocese of Marlo-Moreno and President of Caritas Latin America and the Caribbean.

According to church sources, quoted by the press, the religious can be replaced immediately.

However, sources familiar with the case claim that the bishop has already tendered his resignation early "to avoid an even greater scandal.

" The images, showing the bishop with a woman on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, have been taken in January of last year.

The woman in the photos is a food entrepreneur, owner of restaurants in Buenos Aires, which considers only the bishop as "childhood friend".

The dissemination of images caused outrage among church members and politicians, because the bishop answered, several times, the Government of Buenos Aires due to social policies and demanded more attention to the poorest sectors of the country. Many argue, though, who paid the vacation of the bishop in a luxury resort.

I suppose it's a good sign that they are more annoyed about the bishop wasting money on luxury holidays than they are about his lady friend.....

It hasn't crossed their minds that someone else might have paid, has it? French Priests are on The Minimum Wage, so they rely quite a lot on parishioners for any small luxuries that they might enjoy. And why not?

Yes, that's probably the answer, Sabot, but unless I missed some major upheaval in the Catholic church, their bishops are supposed to be celibate.....

Did anyone actually catch him with his leg over? Or was it because he was wearing bathing shorts?
Personally, I don't care what he was doing. That's for his conscience and The Church.

Sabot, I am delighted to say that what Argentinian bishops get up to in Mexican holiday resorts has absolutely nothing to do with me, and no bearing on my life whatsoever
