HATERS ISSUE THREATS TO CHARITY

The haters have concocted a nasty 'open letter' to the missing people charity now. I am not going to repeat it, it's just the usual pitchforking spite.

It has, naturally, met with approval, with one small quibble:


This has got to be one of the best letters ever written about the case. I'm sure we all agree with everything the writer has said but there could be a problem with this bit: "We therefore respectfully suggest that you remove any reference to the LATE Madeleine McCann from your missing people website and at least let the child rest, give her back her dignity." I agree with him that, more than likely Madeleine is deceased but unfortunately there is no proof of that. Yet. :(

You are probably right in thinking of who it is too!

The detectives were also of very low credibility, Kevin Halligen now in prison for fraud, Antonio Jiminez for the theft of cocaine. Metodo 3 were investigated for wire tapping and Arthur Cowley set up a bogus company, Alphaig which the McCanns spokesman and the press routinely referred to as Alpha Group Investigations, a company which does not exist but is similar in name to the established company Alpha Investigation Group.

I can think of only one person who is obsessed with those people

Hopefully, the police can do something about this, as whoever wrote it is trying to intimidate the charity into doing as he says.

And the press will, I am sure, be delighted to do an expose on whichever bully wrote that.

And the person is impersonating Peter Davies. And we know who has done this in the past. These people are dumber than dumb. Do they not realize they can be traced? Every single person that posts content online leaves a digital fingerprint. Feckwits!

You'd be waiting for them to 'send da boys round'.
The recipient of the letter would clearly regard that line as a threat.
And you could imagine the headlines if the tabloids got hold of it: 'Internet Trolls Threaten Charity Bosses'.

Yes, it would be terrible if people contacted the UK media about it, wouldn't it? It could inspire all sorts of headlines about the McCann-haters, get read by millions of people, etc.

This is mind blowing. They've gone completely off their rockers. A letter like that is much more likely to get them investigated rather than the Charity.

It rather escapes me why this is being written off as a 'spoof' in some quarters.

As it was sitting on an obscure blog till the leading lights in the Hounders spammed it everywhere, I don't think there is too much doubt about the people behind it.

It isn't 'satire', it is sick and nasty.

I hope missing people go to the police about it, and whoever wrote it is charged with whatever the legal wording for intimidation is.

And to suggest that this is Pro Satire is really stupid. We know what Satire is, and that isn't Satire. That is Libel and Intimidation.

It's not my place to tell missing people what to do, Sabot, but in their shoes, I wouldn't just be contacting the media about this, I would be calling in the lawyers - and the police.

Given the nature of the threats, and the clear attempt at blackmail and intimidation, IMO the police should be able to get the ip of the poster from the blog hosts.

It's well past time these people and their hate campaign were called to account.

Do you know, that hadn't occurred to me, Sabot. As well as 'finding' this, they 'found' that strange flyer supposedly put out by a band, didn't they? Bennett was mysteriously the first to know about that, and I doubt if Kerrang! is his favourite viewing or reading.
