And why on earth would any sane grown-up be in the least bit interested? Cod science for E! sounds about her dead strength. I suggest she sticks to 'profiling' zelebs - and their puppies - and stay well clear of historical events, where she clearly knows nothing about the context, background, culture, or, well, anything.

I forget where, but in some nations, moving your head from side to side - our NO - means YES. Ms Glass seems to have decided that one size fits all, and that what applies to some zelebs' child's puppy applied equally to the Head of State, not only of the UK, but of rather a lot of nations worldwide.

I doubt if she understood much of what she was actually looking at.

The suggestions was that Katie Holmes tried to force a puppy on Suri that Suri was patently terrified of. This puppy was about the size of a Tea Plate.
The more likely possibility was that Suri wanted the puppy and her Mother said No, living in an appartment and all that.
The implication being that Katie Holmes is trying to buy Suri away from her Father, that Scientology Freak.

I recommend watching it full screen, with the sound turned up, to fully enjoy it.

I am sure there is an element of jealousy in it, Sabot - people like her like to imagine 'Engerland' (they never seem to be able to grasp which bit is which) as this sort of shabby, down-at-heel place where it rains all the time and nothing ever works properly - which it is, of course

However, when it REALLY matters - like standing up to Hitler all by ourselves, or putting on enormous, public pageants - we always seem to somehow manage to pull the rabbit out of the hat.

That short film is wonderful. In many ways, it IS Britain.

And if Glass cannot or will not see that, well, it's her loss.

PS - Personally, I think that, after being escorted to the stadium by James Bond, to waves from Winston Churchill and the Dambusters theme, Her Maj was rightly miffed about being introduced in French.

I suppose it did occur to Ms Glass that Her Maj might not have been best pleased at being introduced in what, in US parlance, is cheese-eating surrender monkey lingo?

Now that was a faux pas, by whichever Olympian official was responsible. While French and English are the official Olympic languages, at that particular moment, French should not have taken precedence.

I saw in the film an elderly lady with a barely concealed smile of delight and certainly the Duke was grinning from ear to ear and back again. I bet this blonde bimbo is also ageist.

Re Scientology, I was once invited to a 'theosophical debate' in LA whrn I was living there. It turned out to be a recruitment drive for Scientology; a load of balderdash and idiocy. I walked out but was pursued by a woman who tried to give me a copy of Dianetics, the Hubbard book. When I refused she turned quite nasty and called me a couple of names, at which point I told her, first in English, then in Austrian what a stupid creature she was. She then threatened me so I told her what I did for a living - and she bolted, very fast, back to the meeting. It is a cult, plain and simple, NOT a religion but a way to make money from the gullible, especially the rich idiots like Cruise. LL

Funny you should say that, LL. They once invaded Plymouth, England that is, and tried to extract quite a large sum of money from me, and then treated me like some sort of brain dead moron when I refused. Although in my opinion you have to be brain dead to fall for it.
But I do wonder if they were in the past, able to facilitate advancement of certain people in the real world.
Tom Cruise is a half decent Actor, but hardly in the same league as the likes of Christopher Plummer or Lawrence Olivier.

Funnily enough, I thought it was The Queen to start with. What a hoot that would have been, except that they would never have allowed her to do it. Presuming she would have been daft enough.
