Why every Maddie sighting is crucial
As missing girl is 'spotted' in Ibiza we explore why they must ALL be considered

LAST week it happened again – another possible sighting of missing Madeleine McCann and a new flicker of hope.
There have been hundreds of them since the little girl went missing more than five years ago.
This time, as The Sun revealed on Friday it was a German businessman convinced he spotted her with a German family on a holiday jet from Ibiza to Munich.
Tourist Frank Bode took a blurry snap of the youngster aboard the resort’s airport transit bus. He claims that the girl was British and did not seem to fit with the family.
He immediately contacted “Find Madeleine” investigators in the UK and Scotland Yard cops are now following up his claims. While inquiries are still underway with this latest possible sighting, so far all the other “maybes” have ended with a crushing wave of fresh pain for parents Kate and Gerry McCann as their hopes are dashed once more.
It may seem a cruel ordeal, but her parents and the police know that no possible sighting — however seemingly bizarre — can be dismissed.
In fact, according to former Met detective Ian Horrocks who served in the kidnap and ransom squad, the longer Madeleine has been missing, the MORE likely it is that sightings are made.
He said: “It has previously been said, ‘Who is going to openly walk out with the world’s most wanted child?’.
“This was clearly relevant in the days, weeks and months following her abduction but, as time has gone by, whoever took Madeleine is likely to be more confident about taking her out in public.”
He added: “The reality is that none can be totally ignored, and all need to be considered.
“Anyone who genuinely believes they have seen Madeleine should immediately contact police.”
Madeleine vanished from her family’s holiday apartment in Portugal in May 2007, just days before her fourth birthday. She would now be nine-years-old.
So far possible sightings have stretched as far and wide as Spain, Britain, India, New Zealand and Australia. And the way the McCanns deal with each one has become a well-rehearsed routine.
They are given all available details of the sighting, and if a photo has been taken they are sent a copy.
It is all part of the Met’s review of the case, which has so far cost £2.5million.
Met Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe has just asked the Government for more cash to keep the search, including the probe of possible sightings, underway.
He said: “We are still reviewing a lot of material.”
Meanwhile Kate McCann, 44, of Rothley, Leics, says it does not matter how many years go by — she will always recognise her beloved eldest child.
She once told me: “I know I would, I just know that if she came in here now I would know it was her.”

Of course every sighting is crucial. of course that every sighting should be properly investigated, because it could be the one who brings Madeleine to her home.

All the haters who denied there was a 'sighting' in Leh please take note:

We all knew that there had been an incident in Leh, and that the Yard were involved.
That the haters chose, instead, to believe a fantasist showbiz gossip with reality 'issues' rather says it all about their mentality, doesn't it?

Forker:
Utter, unmitigated, irresponsible drivel.
The worst thing is that those who rely upon rags like the Sun are probably easily influenced.
If they were to have the PJ files read to them, there might be a sea-change in public opinion.
The irony. When, every day, they make it glaringly obvious that none of them have read the files thoroughly and in full themselves.
Let's nail this one. Anyone who has PROPERLY READ AND UNDERSTOOD the police files, especially the forensic reports, KNOWS the McCanns did not harm their daughter.
Anyone who has done that KNOWS the AG was correct to clear the McCanns in 2008, and that there never was any evidence against them to begin with.
Journos like Ms Lazzeri know far, far more about the case than these no-marks on hate sites; she's been to PDL, she was there after Madeleine's abduction, for starters.
The haters are wrong, and in the wrong. Apart from anything else, they are giving comfort to the scum that abducted Madeleine, and very likely other children in Portugal.
One can only assume that to them, cheering on a dirty, disgraced ex-cop in his vendetta is more important than those missing children. And the haters wonder why the rest of the world despises them?

Detective praises reporting of ‘Maddie’ sighting in Ibiza
A FORMER British detective has praised an Olive Press exclusive on a possible spotting of Madeleine McCann on a flight from Ibiza, which was followed up in over a dozen countries.
Former Met officer Ian Horrocks praised the quick thinking of reader Frank Bode, whose claims were followed up by numerous national newspapers, including Bild in Germany, the Mirror in the UK and Diario de Noticias in Portugal.
German businessman Bode was so convinced he had spotted the youngster with a German family on the flight from Ibiza to Munich a fortnight ago that he contacted police, the family and the Olive Press, after taking a photo.
Bode claimed that the girl was British and did not seem to ‘fit with the family’.
Both Maddie’s family in the UK and detective Horrocks, a former kidnap and ransom squad officer, praised his actions. Scotland Yard is still investigating the claims.
Horrocks believes that the longer Madeleine has been missing, the more likely it is that people will spot her.
He said: “It has previously been said, ‘Who is going to openly walk out with the world’s most wanted child?”
“This was clearly relevant in the days, weeks and months following her abduction but, as time has gone by, whoever took Madeleine is likely to be more confident about taking her out in public,” he added.
The sighting ties in with claims of psychic healer Carol Everett, who has worked on finding both missing people and criminals on the run.
The Murcia-based psychic claimed in 2007 that she could ‘see’ Madeleine with a German-speaking couple.
Speaking to The Olive Press this week, she reiterated her claims: “My prediction has been there from day one, I haven’t changed my claims.
“I’m not a detective, I just put my points in the pot and very often come up with the missing links.”
She continued: “I can’t say that it’s her, but it certainly fits. A German family with two other children.”
Madeleine’s mother, Kate McCann has previously claimed that no matter how many years go by she would never fail to recognise her eldest daughter.
“I know I would, I just know that if she came in here now I would know it was her.”
Over the next couple of months two libel trials are expected to be heard regarding the case.
In one, the McCann family are taking retired lawyer Tony Bennett to court in the UK, while in Portugal, former detective Goncalo Amaral, is being tried over claims in a book that she was killed by her parents.

The last bit should set CSI Petey off on another fit of carpet-chewing.

Who knows, maybe someone will send them his disgusting dribbles about a teenage girl? Give them even more insight into the sickos in the McCann-hate campaign?

I am positive Kate will know her daughter when she sees her. That is the bond between mother and daughter…intangible but real.
May I take this opportunity of wishing Kate and Gerry McCann much success with their 2 court cases… v Bennett and v Amaral. Both men need to be steadfastly put in their place for once and for all.
You have many supporters out here Kate and Gerry so keep strong and steadfast and resolute.
Madeleine is alive and findable.
BTW, has Heidi finished slinging wild and malicious allegations at Ms Gurney yet?
