jd, I just can't believe this.

the posts on the thread were reasonable and we had seen the return of Ringo to champion Mr Smethurst and the McCanns.

Like you, I eagerly await clarification.

No, the posts were NOT reasonable, they were disgusting, filthy lies and smears.
Not to mention the harrassment and stalking.
And it isn't a school debating society - the pitchforkers were deliberately trying to ruin their victims.

Bennett was told on the 4th he had to act at once; he didn't, he carried on posting smears and lies.

They were all warned - did they think it's some kind of sick game?

It hasn't been deleted, it has been moved into Admin for the time being until this issue with Carter Ruck is resolved one way or the other.


Word of advice - delete it and apologise for allowing those filthy lies, or be prepared to join Bennett in the dock.

I do believe they left it too late to delete.
Way too many people read and copied Bennett's vile words.

I agree, Tony, assorted sickos copied Bennett and spread the filth and libel everywhere; also, Bennett completely ignored CRs instructions of the 4th; he was told to remove them or proceedings would begin without further notice.

It was beyond foolish of Bennett to claim he could do nothing till he was back from holiday, and carry on posting and twittering on the 5th.

This is all a matter of record; Carter Ruck have, I suspect, been inundated with screengrabs of Bennett treating his final warning with contempt.

Just a reminder of the date when Bennett was posting and twittering, having told CR he couldn't deal with that vile thread because he was on holiday:



A reasonable person might be tempted to think Bennett stuck two fingers up to Carter Ruck and left the country, leaving others to face the music for his actions.

Oh, and hastily changing posts doesn't work with screengrabs...

It was spelled out to them by Carter Ruck:

Bennett should have stopped this on Thursday after the CR letters; instead, he came out with rubbish about being on holiday, so couldn't do anything, then carried on merrily posting and twittering yesterday.

It was a clear, outright lie to Carter Ruck; he has no way back from his own words.

1. Whoever did move that thread - presumably Havern - did it in seconds. Bennett could easily have done the same, as he has shown over and over again that he has the requisite permissions.

2. Bennett should never have started this vile campaign of harrassment, stalking, smearing and outright lying in the first place.

He's had his fun - now he can pay for it.

Bonny, E. Smethurst is a lawyer, would he seriously have left those posts on his social network site; in full view, where everyone could see them including his clients, had he know about them?

The thing is, the posts were nothing to do with the man- it was all 6 degrees of separation stuff. For all anyone knows, some of Bennett's minions created those accounts and the whole thing is a set-up.
It certainly would not be the first time that lot have cloned people, they are notorious for it.
We just do not know, Tony.
I am sure we will find out when Bennett is hauled into the High Court,
