9/11 Plane Part Found Between NYC Buildings
Police believe the piece of landing gear is from one of the hijacked planes that were flown into the World Trade Center.
The part is believed to be from one of the two hijacked planes
It was found wedged in this narrow crevice

Police say a part from one of the commercial planes that was flown into the Twin Towers on 9/11 has been found between two buildings.
New York Police Department Spokesman Paul Browne said the piece of landing gear, discovered on Wednesday wedged between a mosque site and another lower Manhattan building, has a clearly legible Boeing identification number.
It was found by surveyors who had been hired to inspect the site of a planned Islamic community centre.
The surveyors quickly called 911, and the scene was secured and documented the findings with photographs, Mr Browne said.
Police have not said how large the piece is.
They are awaiting a determination from a medical examiner on whether to sift the soil around the building to search for human remains.
The medical examiner's office is in the middle of a 10-week sifting operation as it attempts to identify additional human remains in debris unearthed at the World Trade Center site during construction of a new skyscraper.
If the landing gear's origin is authenticated, it would mean it sat undisturbed for more than 11 years.
More than 2,750 people were killed at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, when terrorists hijacked two commercial passenger planes and flew them into the upper floors of the Twin Towers, then the tallest buildings in the world.
Hijackers also took over two other planes that day, crashing one into the Pentagon in Washington DC. The fourth plane went down in a field in rural Pennsylvania.

Part of the plane of September 11, 2001 in New York found
The New York police said on Friday they had found near the site of the attacks of September 11, a piece of one of the planes plunged into the twin towers of the World Trade Center.
A part of a landing gear, which seems to belong to one of the passenger aircraft destroyed on September 11, was discovered entangled in the rear "of two buildings in Manhattan, said police spokesman Paul Browne.
The two buildings, number 50 from number 50 Park Place and Murray Street are located two blocks from the World Trade Center.
Paul Browne added that part of the aircraft had "an identification number clearly visible Boeing."
The authorities did not have the size, but the television network NBC Local refers to a piece of about a meter and a half.
The space between the two buildings is extremely narrow, which may explain how this part of the plane escaped all searches for nearly 12 years.
The police "established a security perimeter around the area, as is usual for a crime scene, taking photographs and limiting access," stated Paul Browne said in a statement.
It is possible that you will be making the decision to inspect the ground for possible human remains, he added.
A piece of the plane was accidentally discovered after an inspection of the building at the rear of Park Place, at the request of its owner. The inspectors called police after discovering what they thought was a damaged machine.
In all, 2,753 people died in the attacks of September 11 in New York, when two airliners seized by al-Qaida terrorists crashed into the two towers of the World Trade Center.
According to doctors coroners, not found any trace of 1,122 missing persons in a deluge of steel and fire so that the towers collapsed.
Altogether 21,817 human remains were found, but only 59% could be identified.
