Ah, of course, Rhodes! Hope Good Old Dave wasn't in a hurry to literally bury the evidence? And I wonder why the weapon ended up down a drain, what with it being an 'accident' and all?

So one of them was wandering around with a knife, by accident, as you do?
However, thank God we won't yet be subjected to him and her propping each other up in a public display of supportive grief.

I found this old photo;
Odd, isn't it, what with Amy being missing and Dave having killed Dean? But it's OK, Dean's mum has forgiven him.

I was quite surprised at that also. If it was a natural death then yes funerals are more or less a few days later.
A file has been sent to the DPP and the procedure will follow as below:

Thanks, Anita, it seems broadly the same as England and Wales, or our Procurator Fiscal system.
I really don't see Amy and Dean's real dad letting this one go, I should think he's raising Hell about it.
Amy's idiot mother reminds me of that stupid bimbo who killed both her children, but sadly not herself, in Spain, because their father was charged with abusing her daughter from a previous marriage.

You are welcome Bonny; I had to look it up as I have never had any trouble with the law so wasn't too sure if ours was the same as yours.
Here's hoping that all will be uncovered and the truth will come out about what happened to Amy and why Dean was killed so their poor family can finally get some peace.

Yes, I thought of her. And I doubt that there was much chance of Audrey siding with her children either.
So why would Dean and Dave have a fight? That Dave is a big man against a skinny boy.

Dean Fitzpatrick wanted to give gardai vital new information about his sister Amy's disappearance before he was killed
Victim's dad Christopher reveals his son opened up for the first time about what happened his sister
Christopher Fitzpatrick has revealed how Dean had opened up to him about his sister’s disappearance in the days before he was stabbed to death.
It has emerged the 23-year-old was planning to go to gardai with vital information which he hoped would nail Amy’s killer.
His dad Christopher, 47, told Irishmirror.ie: “The last couple of days he was confiding in me quite a lot about Amy.
“Before that he never said much but he was coming around and talking a lot more about it.
“He was loosening up in the last week and a half.”
Sources have revealed Dean was planning to speak to gardai or the family’s private investigator Liam Brady about the case.
They claim he had information which he wanted to pass on to police which may have provided a breakthrough in the five-year investigation.
Gardai are investigating tragic Dean’s movements and conversations in the lead-up to his death on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, his mother’s partner Dave Mahon has admitted stabbing him to death but denies it was murder.
Christopher Fitzpatrick and partner Christine Kenny
Mahon, 42, who was questioned by gardai for 24 hours, claimed he was acting in self-defence and that it was an accident.
Dean’s dad Christopher and aunt Christine Kenny last night said they were hoping to secure justice for the killing.
Ms Kenny said: “All we want is Dean’s body to be released but we have to go by the law and whatever the police have to do, they have to do it.
“They’re doing a fantastic job. They’re not going to leave any stone unturned.”
Christopher added: “We want to make an appeal for anyone that was there on the night.
“We would appeal for anyone who was at the function in the hotel, outside or in the apartment complex on the night to come forward if they saw anything.
“We would like them to contact gardai in Coolock.”
Ms Kenny explained the family believe this latest killing may affect the hunt for missing Amy.
Dean’s sister Amy disappeared in 2008. The then 15-year-old schoolgirl vanished without a trace on New Year’s Eve in Spain, where she had been living with her mum Audrey and step-dad Dave Mahon.
Amy is presumed dead and her body has never been recovered, despite huge searches.
Ms Kenny said: “We believe that Dean’s death might now bring about some new information about Amy.
“We have never given up hope. There are people who know the truth and maybe now their conscience will catch up on them. We are not and we will not give up on Amy.”
Christine and Christopher declined to comment on the details of Dean’s death and they explained that the matter was now under Garda investigation.
The dad described the horror moment he learned his son had been killed.
Christopher said: “The gardai got my number from Dean’s phone and they called me to say what had happened.
“To be honest I thought it was one of his friends messing and it was only when we got the second call to go around the hospital immediately that I realised what had happened.”
Ms Kenny revealed how the couple rushed to Beaumont Hospital but by that stage it was too late.
She said: “They brought us into the family room and the surgeons told us they tried to revive him twice. They were successful once but it was too late.”
Christopher was visibly emotional when he was asked to describe his eldest son.
He added: “Dean was into the gym and weightlifting in a big way, he couldn’t get enough of it.”
He said Dean was also an avid cyclist and would bike from their home in Artane, North Dublin, to his girlfriend Sarah O’Rourke’s house in Lusk every day.
Christopher added: “Dean was a quiet guy. He just done his own thing and he never bothered anyone.
“He never fell out with anyone and if he did, he would be back friends with them very quickly.”
Although Dean was trying to find work at the time of his death he had a keen interest in mechanics.
Christine explained he was with them in the three days leading up to his death.
And she added he was in a very positive mood. The family are now preparing for the funeral which was further delayed yesterday when Dave Mahon requested an independent post mortem.
Private investigator Liam Brady last night appealed for anyone with information about Amy’s disappearance to contact him through the website searchforamy.com.
Anyone with information about Dean’s killing can call Coolock Garda station on 016664200, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Dave Mahon at Northern Cross yesterday
Bereaved mother Audrey Fitzpatrick stands by her man Dave Mahon
Dave Mahon was yesterday back with Dean Fitzpatrick’s mum.
Three days after he allegedly stabbed Dean to death in Northern Cross, North Dublin, the 42-year-old returned to the flat he shares with his partner – Dean’s mum Audrey.
The pair were together at the apartment in Burnell Square when Irishmirror.ie called yesterday.
Heartbroken Audrey admitted: “I haven’t been the best.
“The phone hasn’t stopped ringing all day.”
Later Mahon confirmed he was back at the flat with Audrey.
He said: “We are both very upset.”
A family member confirmed the pair are still together despite the tragic killing.
The relative added: “Dave is in a very bad way and all his life has been ruined by this.”
Mahon was first spotted leaving the apartment complex near Clarehall at 1pm yesterday.
Dressed in a grey T-shirt, jeans and white runners, he returned at 3pm with a male companion.
His pal left shortly afterwards but Mahon remained in the flat with Dean’s mum.
The pair were inside when Dean’s father Christopher laid a crucifix and rosary beads at the scene where the attack happened.

Re: DAVE MAHON CHARGED WITH MURDERING DEAN FITZPATRICK, BROTHER OF MISSING AMY
So, Dean was stabbed to death 'accidentally' by Good Old Dave just before he was going to the police with information about his missing sister Amy?
That's the sister who was sharing a roof with Good Old Dave when she vanished?
I wonder what that information could have been? It's a real puzzle. Not.
As for:
“Dave is in a very bad way and all his life has been ruined by this.”
Diddums! It hasn't done an awful lot for Dean, either, due to Dave having killed the young lad. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if Amy's life hadn't been ruined by Dave, too.

The family are now preparing for the funeral which was further delayed yesterday when Dave Mahon requested an independent post mortem.
What, was he thinking of trying to claim that Dean had a sudden heart attack, or something? IMO, that thug is heading straight for the dock in an Irish court, and I would not be at all surprised if his wife joined him, if she's been covering for him over Amy's disappearance.

Something along the lines of what we have all been thinking. And you can bet your sweet life Sweet Audrey knows something.
Her and Dave were supposedly out together that New Years Eve.

The very fact that Mahon wanted a second post mortem makes a nonsense of his excuses about it being an accident, IMO - it suggests he is thinking of a way of wriggling out of serious charges.
As for Amy's mother - that she can so quickly 'forgive' the thug who's killed her son, whatever the circumstances, suggests that there's just about nothing she won't turn a blind eye to.

Nicola Anderson – 31 May 2013
Funeral arrangements made for Dean Fitzpatrick without the knowledge of his birth father were cancelled after solicitors were called in.
Christopher Fitzpatrick has taken legal advice to ensure that his wishes regarding the burial of his dead son are respected.
It is understood a bitter dispute has arisen within the estranged family over Dean's final resting place.
Dean's mother, Audrey, wants him to be buried in her mother's grave. Mr Fitzpatrick wants him to be laid to rest in a single grave.
Mr Fitzpatrick and his extended family were "gutted" to see details of a funeral online, claiming they had not been told.
The funeral site, RIP.ie yesterday carried details of the service which had been due to take place today. The death notice was subsequently removed from the website.

I know that woman and her bit of stuff are beyond contempt and I agree they know what happened to Amy. I was out with friends last night and they all think the same and they cannot comprehend how as so called mother could ever choose a man over her own son and daughter

To bury Dean under any circumstances without his real father's knowledge would be shameful, but when he's being buried by the very man responsible for his death.....

Re: DAVE MAHON CHARGED WITH MURDERING DEAN FITZPATRICK, BROTHER OF MISSING AMY
This is typical of women who put their personal interests before those of their children. They neglect them in life and then demand the right to bury them, as if this will in some way negate what has happened.
"Look at how much I cared. He will have the best funeral ever. The most flowers and the best coffin." And then no doubt, she will send the bill to his father because she hasn't got any money.

I am aghast at the sheer gall of these two, Sabot. IMO, a 'mother' who can consistently behave like this, would put her thuggish partner ahead of her children WHATEVER he did.
I have no doubt the couple's conduct is attracting the attention of both the Irish and Spanish police, or that their real father will be demanding Amy's disappearance is looked at again.

Now there's a thought.
Calls for a Review by The Irish Police, except I can't quite see Audrey and Dave doing that.
Demands to The Spanish Police to reopen The Case.
Shrieks from us demanding they Interrogate Audrey and Dave.
More shrieks from us demanding a Forensic Account of what happened to The Fund. ie: How many Mortgage Payments were made, and how many trips back to Ireland were paid for?
Demands for a much closer look at Neglect and Child abuse.
Demands for a much closer look at their friends on MM. Rogatory Interviews and the like.
Are you listening, Audrey?

He accidentally dropped the weapon down a drain after the accidental stabbing, Tony, befoe he went to bed.
Very accident-prone, is Mahon, what with mislaying a stepdaughter and killing a stepson. Accidentally.

Re: DAVE MAHON CHARGED WITH MURDERING DEAN FITZPATRICK, BROTHER OF MISSING AMY
http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/funeral-of-dean-fitzpatrick-delayed-amid-family-dispute-over-burial-high-court-hears-29310788.html
A dispute has arisen over the funeral arrangements of Dubliner Dean Fitzpatrick, who was killed last Saturday in a stabbing incident, the High Court heard today.
The funeral of the 23-year-old has been delayed because of a dispute over the burial arrangements within his extended family.
His father, Christopher Fitzpatrick, earlier this week contacted the office of the Dublin City Coroner Dr Brian Farrell to ask it to delay the release of his son's remains.
Mr Fitzpatrick, who has been estranged for many years from Audrey Fitzpatrick, mother of Dean, wants his son buried in a new plot while Mrs Fitzpatrick wants him buried in a plot connected to her family.
Counsel for Mr Fitzpatrick told the High Court this morning his client's intention is Dean will be buried in a new plot. It is intended Dean's sister Amy, aged 15, who had gone missing in early 2008 would be buried alongside him, counsel indicated.
Mr Fiztpatrick has brought proceedings against the Coroner aimed at preventing the release of his son's body until the court detrmines the matter.
The President of the High Court, Mr Justice Nicholas Kearns, said he will deal with the matter at 2pm today and he directed Mrs Fitzpatrick should be put on notice of the proceedings.
Counsel for Mr Fitzpatrick said there had been difficulty serving notice of the proceedings to date but efforts would continue, include by contacting a Garda liaison officer.
The matter was "of extreme ugency" and the hearing will proceed this afternoon, the judge said.
The funeral Mass had been scheduled to take place this morning at St Brendan's Church in Coolock, north Dublin, with burial at Fingal Cemetery. It remains unclear when the funeral will be held.
Originally from Donaghmede, Mr Fitzpatrick was fatally stabbed during a scuffle in an apartment at Northern Cross, Malahide Road, shortly before 11.30pm last Saturday.
