I am afraid that if people are going to eat meat, then they will have to get used to the idea of paying a fair price for it, Pedro.

That means meat from beasts that have been well-reared, from known farms, which take pride in what they do. Consumers are going to have to ditch this idea that any old cheap, processed rubbish is as good as prime Aberdeen Angus.

I don't eat meat anyway, though I confess to having had a couple of Findus lasagne in the freezer previously, as I assumed, wrongly, that they were mainly soya, with an Oxo cube waved over them.

Since discovering that they were actually made of 100% horse, I can safely say I haven't eaten red meat for years...
