Crimewatch update
The show's now started, and doubtless hater carpets are already being chewed.
The McCann were on briefly, with Kate saying that once again, the public have shown how supportive they are, and how keen to help find Madeleine.
More later.

Re: Crimewatch update
Brief summary of previous appeal; the McCanns were speaking at the German broadcast.
Apparently, that appeal got the highest ever number of calls. Let's hope they were from decent people, not moronic haters and Gonzo fans playing stupid games at Madeleine's expense.

Re: Crimewatch update
Andy Redwood's been on from the designated incident room and said his piece. He said there had been a fantastic response, 3,500 phone calls, texts, etc., from people who had been in PDL, etc.
It's very important to the Yard that the case has been re-opened by Portugal, and he hopes the forces can work together in a focussed and determined way.
Of Tractorman:
Lots of important lines of enquiry are being followed up. He then thanked people who'd contacted the Yard again.

Crimewatch Update
Many thanks to Tigerloaf for YouTubing the relevant parts, for those who missed it or who are not in the UK.
Predictably, the McCann-haters are all foaming at the mouth. So no change there.

Re: Crimewatch update
Sharon Hill should have mentioned after last months CW the numbers of people joining anti McCann web sites has almost trebled
I doubt if Crimewatch is much interested in the speed at which the McCann-haters can knit socks.

No mention of 99% of the population seeing who's really in the photofit images...
The PJ are probably waiting for the right moment to arrest Arguido Cristovao.

Re: Crimewatch update
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, the officer in charge of the Madeleine McCann investigation, appeared on BBC1's Crimewatch programme this evening, Thursday 28 November.
His appearance is a month on from the appeal in the UK, Germany and Holland on specific lines of enquiry, changes to the timeline and issuing of e-fits of people police wish to trace.
DCI Redwood said: "The media appeals produced a fantastic response from the public in all three countries with a total of 3,500 calls and messages in the UK, 850 to Germany, and 650 in Holland.
"Lots of people have called to say they were in Praia da Luz at the time. All of this information has obviously produced a very large volume of work for the Operation Grange team to work through.
"I have been in Faro this week working with police colleagues, and I know the appeal generated a large number of calls to the Portuguese police also.
"I’d like to thank the media and the public for their continued assistance in this challenging enquiry."

Madeleine McCann disappearance: Public thanked for response after Crimewatch appeal
A senior detective investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has thanked the public for thousands of messages received in the wake of recent television appeals.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood said several holidaymakers who were in Praia da Luz, Portugal in 2007 when the little girl vanished had made contact with his team.
British police launched their own investigation into Madeleine's disappearance earlier this year, called Operation Grange, and recently made renewed appeals for information on television in the UK, Holland and Germany.
Appearing on the BBC's Crimewatch programme tonight Mr Redwood said: "The media appeals produced a fantastic response from the public in all three countries with a total of 3,500 calls and messages in the UK, 850 to Germany, and 650 in Holland.
"Lots of people have called to say they were in Praia da Luz at the time. All of this information has obviously produced a very large volume of work for the Operation Grange team to work through.
"I have been in Faro this week working with police colleagues, and I know the appeal generated a large number of calls to the Portuguese police also.
"I'd like to thank the media and the public for their continued assistance in this challenging enquiry."
Yesterday Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe said British and Portuguese police should join together as one team in their investigations into what happened to Madeleine.
The little girl, then aged three, went missing from a holiday apartment where she was sleeping with her two younger siblings as her parents dined nearby with friends.
The Portuguese shelved their inquiry into her disappearance in 2008, but last month said that a review had uncovered enough new information to justify reopening the case.
The Commissioner said: "One thing we'd like to see in the future is a joint investigation team which comes under the European community. It is a possibility legally, and we're working together at a political level, and at a police and judicial level, to see how we can construct that.
"If you're not careful, you end up doing things on an ad-hoc basis, and for us it would be better to have that type of arrangement. So that's what we're trying to get agreement between the two governments and the two police services."

It would help if they released the missing files then we may get further.
Hater fails to grasp that police investigations ARE NONE OF ITS BUSINESS.
These armchair defectives and their sense of entitlement really are the pits.

Perhaps we should see the statements made by Hyland, Butler, Bennett and the others who have managed to get their dubious activities investigated by police?
Sauce for the goose and all that...
Somehow I suspect that they would hate it if their police files were all released for scrutiny on the Internet.

Re: Crimewatch update
And as they seem to think they're entitled to see the McCann family's medical records, I think they should put their own online. That way, we can see how many of them have mental health 'issues', or problems with drug/alcohol abuse.
