It's the modern Westminster equivalent of bread and circuses - throw the idiots some juicy titbits, and it will stop them thinking about anything important that's happening in the UK.

You know, unemployment, food banks, that sort of thing. If they're busy salivating over celeb gossip and scandals, they might not notice anything that actually matters, like the Tories trying to demolish the NHS, stop benefits to the most vulnerable, etc.

This is all getting a bit beyond me. Surely this is doing nothing for fairness in any Trial that might happen.
