Blair said he 'admired him greatly' and claimed he was 'loved by his people'
Flags ordered to fly at half mast on Government buildings out of respect
King oversaw regular public beheadings and floggings for political dissent

The public clearly don't understand that it's OK for despots to fund terrorists, behead people, flog bloggers, treat women like sh*t, etc., when they're OUR despots.
They only become Bad despots when the West needs an excuse to invade their countries as a prelude to looting and destroying them.
Mind you, looking at the death and destruction the West has caused in the name of Freedumbing the Middle East - hang on to your mad despots, they're better than the alternative.
Men may be grabbed and tortured by Mad Despot's secret police, but in the Freedumbed nations, they're grabbed by the CIA, taken halfway round the world, and THEN tortured.
Also, in Mad Despot countries, it's generally safe to go to the shops and buy bread without meeting your death.
1. There are still shops.
2. There is still bread.
3. Mad Despots' secret police arrest, etc., anyone that even THINKS it's a good idea to plant car bombs in marketplaces.
Unlike Freedumbed nations.

Cannot argue with you, Bonny. Like the term Freedumb.
On one of my flights, I sat next to a Saudi Princess who told me about her brave cousin driving there and how happy she was......

Re: Uproar over tributes to late King of Saudi Arabia
By coincidence, today brings another story of the joys of Freedum:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/23/world/africa/libyan-fighters-seize-benghazi-branch-of-central-bank.html
BAYDA, Libya — The battle for control of Libya threatened to break open its central bank on Thursday as fighters with one of the country’s two warring factions seized control of its Benghazi branch, risking an armed scramble for its gold reserves that could cripple the last functioning institution in the country.
The Central Bank of Libya is the great prize at the center of the escalating armed conflicts that have consumed the country since the overthrow of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi more than three years ago. It has also been the main shield preventing Libya’s descent into utter chaos and deprivation.
More at link.
All of which is giving rise to images like:
Even worse, the general answer seems to be YES.

Re: Uproar over tributes to late King of Saudi Arabia
Our Tory leader is furious:
http://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/scottish-politics/davidson-lowering-flags-on-public-buildings-as-a-mark-of-respect-after-sa.1422030953
Ruth Davidson said it was a "stupid act on its own and a stupid precedent to set".
She tweeted: "Flying flags at half mast on gov buildings for the death of Saudi king is a steaming pile of nonsense. That is all."
Uniquely in conservative politics just about anywhere, Oor Ruthie is proud to be a lesbian kick-boxing champion, and clearly feels no need to be polite about our pet despots.
And there is no danger of the hypocrisy engulfing Westminster being repeated in Holyrood:
The mark of respect was not adopted north of the border.
A Scottish Government spokesman said: "We offer the people of Saudi Arabia our condolences following the passing of King Abdullah.
"Flags are not routinely flown at half-mast from Scottish Government buildings to mark the deaths of foreign heads of government or state."

Saw that yesterday, Bonny. Personally, I think that was correct.
