We can confirm that no donations to this account that was created and is held by a group of friends seeking to help Gonçalo Amaral defend himself can possibly be seized as assets, because Mr Amaral is not part of the account.
We can also confirm that each and every cent that is spent goes to help Mr Amaral finance his defence, not to pay anyone, anywhere any compensation or damages.

Unless Portuguese economics are as bizarre as Portuguese law, then money passed on to pay Gonzo's legal debts = more money is released to pay his enormous debts elsewhere. To everyone from the McCann family to the Portuguese taxman.

If you are the organiser of something like this then you see every detail entered into the system. In the case of individuals fundraising for charities on just giving etc then the charity sees them. In these gofund me site the organiser would be Leanne baulch as she's just put amaral's fund as the account it goes into. Therefore she sees all the real names and addresses etc even if they choose to be anonymous in public. However I believe she us breaking the law by releasing data like this, especially as she is using it to try to obtain money from the victims. Its certainly against gofundmes conditions.

Interesting - and worrying for those who have contributed, if they have any sense at all. What with the impersonation, and insulting those 'antis' that haven't forked out, Baulch doesn't appear to be the most trustworthy of people.

She certainly isn't responsible, as she is allowing all that disgusting abuse of the McCann family.

Incidentally, as Baulch's home cesspit claims to have '34,508 members' - why haven't they all just forked out a quid each?

Oh wait, I know. Socks don't have bank accounts.

They really shouldn't do these stunts, they only reveal how few of them there really are - and why they need to have several names each.

I wonder what will happen if and when Ms. Duarte becomes involved?  

I seem to recall reading somewhere or other that the Portuguese courts were aware that someone had impersonated her on the Gonzo Scrounge Fund....

Incidentally, have all the haters screeching about their beloved Gonzo's Yuman Rites forgotten about his extremely dishonourable mention in various Amnesty reports, a few years back?

More like the 'obvious reason' is that the British public have better things to do with their money than hand it over to a convicted criminal, a perjurer, that tried - and failed - to frame a British couple after their child was abducted.
