Christmas 2015
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all our supporters. Your compassion and help has once again spurred us on through another year and never fails to astound us. We really appreciate how lucky we are to have such amazing support behind us. Thank you.
It is our 9th Christmas without Madeleine. As always, she is very much on our mind and in our hearts and Christmas preparations. We have not lost hope that we may get to celebrate another Christmas with her. If anything can drive us on, that most definitely will.
This year has blown over so quickly. Life is very busy, which is probably a good thing, but it does mean the months don’t seem to last long! Thankfully, the police investigation has made progress over the year. Whilst it is never as much or as speedy as we, or the police would like, we are moving in the right direction and that’s the positive. Patience and perseverance are virtues which we’ve acquired in abundance over recent years - another positive!
2015 has also been a full and successful year for the charity ‘Missing People’ which is great news for many of those missing and their families too. I loved taking part in the charity’s ‘500 mile Cycle Challenge’ in June and would encourage anyone who is interested to give it a go next year. It is such a fulfilling and worthwhile experience on many levels and it really makes a difference for missing loved ones and their families. Thank you for all the support given to the charity this year.
Thank you also for all the lovely Christmas cards we’ve received. It gives us a lot of pleasure and comfort to sit down together and share your kind messages, with the reassurance that Madeleine has not been forgotten.
And so a new year approaches….new energy, new opportunities, new hope.
Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and peaceful 2016.
Kate & Gerry

Re: Christmas Message from Kate and Gerry McCann
Oh dear, this seems to have enraged the haters even further - not that they need much help. Santa won't visit them if they keep being horrid!
Maybe more cuteness will help get them in the Christmas spirit?

Madeleine McCann's parents say they have 'fresh hope we will find her'

Three-year-old Maddie vanished from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in May 2007. Kate and Gerry believe their daughter, who would now be aged 12, could still be alive
The parents of Madeleine McCann are thriving on “new energy, new opportunities and new hope” in their bid to find daughter Madeleine next year as they face their ninth Christmas without her.
Kate and Gerry tell in a poignant festive message how they have never given up hope of celebrating a future Christmas with Maddie.
The brave couple, in new posting today on the official Find Maddie website, say: “We have not lost hope that we may get to celebrate another Christmas with her. If anything can drive us on, that most definitely will.”
Former GP Kate and heart surgeon Gerry, both 47, add: “And so a new year approaches....new energy, new opportunities, new hope.”
The family will lay presents in Madeleine’s bedroom on Christmas Day and pray that one day she will be back home to open them.
A stocking full of wrapped gifts will be kept in her pretty pink room which has remained untouched since she vanished more than seven and a half years ago.
Her parents say: “It is our 9th Christmas without Madeleine. As always, she is very much on our mind and in our hearts and Christmas preparations.”
Kate had earlier told in a heart rending message how she bitterly misses sharing Maddie’s excitement during the festive season.
Kate and Gerry from Rothley, Leics, thanked Scotland Yard in their online tribute despite police scaling back the search for their daughter.
But the couple did state that the police investigation was not moving as quickly or finding ‘as much’ as they or detectives would like.

The controversial Operation Grange investigation is now being wound down after struggling to unearth any new clues.
The McCanns say: “Thankfully, the police investigation has made progress over the year. Whilst it is never as much or as speedy as we, or the police would like, we are moving in the right direction and that’s the positive.”
They add: “Patience and perseverance are virtues which we’ve acquired in abundance over recent years - another positive!
“This year has blown over so quickly. Life is very busy, which is probably a good thing, but it does mean the months don’t seem to last long!”
Kate and Gerry are now poised to launch a new privately-funded search for Maddie. They will hire another team of private detectives to chase fresh leads using cash from their £750,000 appeal fund.
In October Scotland Yard announced it was drastically cutting the number of Operation Grange officers from 29 to just four. The inquiry, launched in 2011 on orders of PM David Cameron , has cost £12 million.
In a year where the couple have been trolled by some online abusers, Kate and Gerry thanked their army of supporters.
They write: “Your compassion and help has once again spurred us on through another year and never fails to astound us. We really appreciate how lucky we are to have such amazing support behind us. Thank you.”

The couple, in their eye-catching sky blue message with a glowing Christmas tree icon, sign off to their supporters: “Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and peaceful 2016.”
The McCanns are expected to have a quiet Christmas at home. They are determined to create “as special a Christmas as possible” for ten-year-olds twins Sean and Amelie.
Prayers will be said for Maddie during the village church’s Christmas Day family service.

Let's hope Santa brings the haters a few things they are sadly lacking - like consciences.
And for all the good people....
