New York (CNN) A New Jersey Transit train crashed at a station in Hoboken during Thursday morning's rush-hour commute, killing at least one person and injuring more than 100 others, some seriously, local officials said.

Thanks for the update, LL. I saw earlier reports, and was hoping against hope that it would turn out to be just a bump.

Sadly, it seems to be looking very bad? And would have happened in the rush hour.

It seems the train crashed through the station.  Do you remember the Underground accident in 1975 in London where the train smashed through the buffers at Moorgate station and many City commuters were killed?  This sounds rather like that.  LL

Do you know, I've had a thing about buffers ever since then, LL? I always stay well clear of them, at big railway stations.

I know what you mean,, Bonny. Have heard loads of reports this morning and hopefully, all the injured will be okay in the very near future.
