The reality TV star, who had a gun held to her head during the raid, sues a media outlet for portraying her as a "liar and thief".

Kim Kardashian West is suing a US celebrity gossip website for claiming she staged an armed robbery in Paris to cheat her insurers out of millions.

Police said the reality TV star was tied up and robbed at gunpoint by raiders who stole £8m of jewellery.

She was in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week when she was robbed in a luxury apartment by a gang disguised as police officers.

The defamation lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and was filed in New York against MediaTakeOut.com and its founder, Fred Mwangaguhunga, for reporting she faked last week's incident and then filed a fraudulent insurance claim.

Court papers said Kardashian West "returned to the United States only to again be victimised, but this time by an online gossip tabloid that published a series of articles in early October 2016 referring to her a liar and thief".

The articles "claimed, without any factual support whatsoever, that Kardashian faked the robbery, lied about the violent assault, and then filed a fraudulent claim with her insurance company to bilk her carrier out of millions of dollars," the lawsuit said.

It said the stories "paint the victim of a serious crime as a criminal herself" and are "libellous".

The website refused to publish a retraction and an apology, it added.

During the robbery, Kardashian West had a handgun held to her temple before she was tied up and locked in a bathroom.

A jewellery box was stolen containing a ring worth €4m (£3.5m), as well as other valuables worth between €5m and €6m (£4.4m - £5.2m).

The 35-year-old, who has two children with husband rapper Kanye West, flew back to the US hours after the attack, after being questioned by police.

Her TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, has been put on hold and her sister Khloe has called it a "wake-up call" to the family, who chronicle almost every aspect of their lives on TV and social media.

She's not doing that well. I mean, it's incredibly traumatic what happened to her, but our family is super-close and great and we'll get through it together," she told US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday.

Four days before the robbery, Kardashian West posted a photograph on Instagram of a huge ring on her left hand captioned with three diamond emojis.

The day after the robbery, Paris police said she had made herself a target by flaunting her lavish lifestyle.

Investigators have been studying DNA samples found in the apartment where the raid took place.

However, no evidence was recovered from Kardashian West's diamond pendant that was found in a nearby street.

So, the cycling thieves just carelessly dropped the pendant in the street?

So, there were no cameras around when the woman who takes selfies if she goes to the bog was 'robbed'?

You should see the video on the web that I will try to find. The robbery is supposed to have 'just' taken place and there she is calmly sitting on a sofa glued to a cell phone with police doing their work all around her. Her entry door is shown with no damage whatsoever ditto her bedroom door. Most bizarre.

1 WHO FILMED THE MYSTERY VIDEO?
On Tuesday, celebrity website Radar Online posted a three-minute video of the inside of the apartment on the night the robbery happened.
Within a couple of hours it had been taken down, possibly because under French law it is illegal to film someone in a private space without their consent. The footage appears to have been shot covertly by someone inside the room — there’s speculation it could have been a policeman.
In it, you see an apparently calm Kim Kardashian sitting on a sofa wrapped in a blanket, making a video call on her mobile phone. Policemen and a forensics worker are also shown, talking as they examine the rooms.

There’s a huge TV and the doors — through which the raiders must have entered — appear undamaged.
Though it has been said she was not filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, cameras and lights appear to have been set up in the room. Her assistant is also wearing what looks like a lapel microphone.
A Kardashian spokesman told Radar Online that the footage had been taken five hours after the robbery.
Former FBI agent Manny Gomez, who once won FBI Investigator of the Year, told the site: ‘It is interesting to me how calm she and her personal assistant appear to be. She was acting very normally, as if nothing happened.’

Kim Kardashian West has dropped a defamation lawsuit against a website for claiming she had staged an armed robbery in Paris.

The reality TV star had sued US celebrity gossip website MediaTakeOut for claiming she staged an armed robbery in Paris to cheat her insurers out of millions.

Kardashian West filed a notice of voluntary dismissal of the suit on Monday, two weeks after the company apologised for the claims.

"After speaking to sources, including some connected to the Kardashians, we are now confident and without a doubt believe that Kim Kardashian was robbed as was reported to the Paris police," the website wrote.

"Anyone who is still questioning it is wrong."

My old dad always used to say 'my boy, if you are going to have an insurance claim, always have a burglary and not a fire. Then if they don't pay up you've still got your goods'.

Good sound advice. I'm glad to see that young Kim has been listening.

Kim Kardashian 'FIRES' longtime bodyguard Pascal Duvier one month after Paris robbery

KIM KARDASHIAN has reportedly fired longtime bodyguard Pascal Duvier just over a month after her horrific robbery ordeal in Paris.

It's claimed that the 36-year-old reality star has parted ways with her German muscle, who arrived at the scene of the robbery two minutes after the armed thieves left with millions of dollars worth of Kim's jewellery on October 3.

"Pascal, along with a couple of other security members of their team, were recently let go by Kim and Kanye," a source told Entertainment Weekly.

"It's a pretty tough situation overall and they love Pascal, but they couldn't take any more chances." ...etc.
