Reports spreading on social media that almost all of eastern Aleppo has been liberated. We await news of the fall of the Last Bearded Jihadist.

It is all rather sad. Obama should have been so much better, but then he was only a popularist candidate, with a black wife. He won that one on only being half black. No truly black man was ever going to win at that time.

May be at some time in the future.

I also think he should have been better, Sabot.  The guy was a pothead and in his own words 'lazy' but definitely had charisma. 

Too bad that he does not have a good legacy but I do think that once a brilliant African American comes along, who is suitable for the job, the people would not hesitate.

I hope that, never, ever again is anyone voted into power simply because they have dark skin, or are female, or are gay, or for any kind of 'identity politics' reason.

I hope that goes without saying, Lily. Sadly, it doesn't. Obama was elected for all of the very worst reasons. Let's have a half black president before we have a really black one. I mean, let's not get too carried away.

Unfortunately, I have entirely forgotten yet again of whom are Republicans or Democrats, or even if it matters.

I did briefly think that Obama might accomplish something for a Free America, when in fact Obama has just put paid to a really good and really black man for at least a decade. So much for a Free America. But then why did I ever think things would be different?

Actually, even the 'Black' bit about Obama is largely false, Sabot. His mother was White, and there is a great deal of controversy as to who his father actually was. His features are more Arabic than African....

There are some awesome Black Americans in Team Trump, like Dr Carson and Sheriff Clarke - and Diamond and Silk, of course.

The difference is, they all regard themselves as American first, and not as some hyphenated minority with grievances.
