An American man has taken out a huge ad in The Times claiming to be the rightful King of England

LONDON — A man from the US has taken out a giant ad in The Times claiming to be the rightful King of England.

Allan V. Evans from Colorado, US, says that he is a descendant of a royal Welsh line from the 3rd century. The ad, says that Evans is "a direct descendant of an unbroken primogeniture line legally documented since the 3rd century in Great Britain and registered in the Royal College of Arms."

Claiming to be dscended from a Welsh royal line does NOT make him King of England, simples.   Possession is nine-tenths of the law means that ownership is easier to maintain if one has possession of something, or difficult to enforce if one does not.   Ergo, as the House of Windsor and its forebears have had possession of the Crown since 1066 he might be able to claim the extinct Welsh Crown but not the English one.   .... legally documented since the 3rd century in Great Britain .... Scotland and England, together with Wales united by the Act of union passed by the Scottish Parliament and Westminster in 1707 to form the Kingdom of Great Britain.   The term 'Great' was just to denote the union of two kingdoms.    LL

Well, I can absolutely GUARANTEE I am descended from a Scottish Stewart king or two. Mainly because they had so many illegitimate children, they just about repopulated Scotland er, single-handed.
