Seems like someone is playing silly beggars on twitter hacking or cloning people questioning the abduction theory. I hardly use direct messaging on there but in the last few days have been inundated with DM's directing me to "nasty blogs about me".

TM must be either getting very worried about their abduction theory being undermined by more and more sites and discussion forums or they are causing distraction to cover some other activity.

It does seem that they are "all supposed to be" from people who don't believe Maddie was abducted. Someone stirring it no doubt. I havent had any from any of the non-McCann related people I follow.

Obviously trying to stop us tweeting about the case.

Reuters Australia, Twitter account hacked

When security vendors say organisations are exposed to cyber threats on social media, we all tend to be sceptical. It’s the old “Three little pigs” story. But then comes the phishing scam we can all fear: a message on Twitter from the Reuters account for pictures, claiming to have seen an embarrassing blog about us.


Yesterday, the official Reuters Twitter account for pictures from Australia, @Reuters_Oz_Pix, was hacked and started to send out the following direct message: “I saw a real bad blog about you, you seen this?”
Soon after, the administrator of the account, Australia-based photographer Timothy Winborne, issued an official statement warning his followers. “The Reuters_Oz_Pix Twitter account was hacked today,” he stated. “Please disregard any spam direct messages that this account created today”.

Now, if you are IT savvy you can immediately dismiss a message, such as the one above, as a phishing attempt; and if you are IT savvy you are possibly not famous enough to fear Reuters having seen embarrassing pictures of you. But the risk for other users is to be tempted to verify the claims, click on the infamous link and join a new online community of spammers.

At a recent IT conference, security services provider Watchguard’s vice president for Asia Pacific, Scott Robertson, predicted social media would be the number one security threat for organisations in 2011, because they create a culture of trust and have insecure codes.

He said most Australian organisations had still to realise the hidden threats of social media practice, and that new corporate policies were needed. More information on the Reuters’ hacking attack has been sought and will be included in an updated version of this report when available.

You can actually Hack Twitter? Must have a go at that one.

I believe mine is getting hacked everyday, as Twitter keeps sending me an -mail telling me they have blocked a third party attempting to use my account.

My advice to everyone...change all your passwords on your internet banking to just a forum, just in case, as a lot of people use the same passwords.

It's to do with Haitch, Bonny. Aitch spells H, as I used to monotonously repeat to my children when they all spoke Devonshire. The French never pronounce an aitch, so I don't have any bother these days.

In the States it is a symbol for 'number' As in apartment #222 or whatever.

Actually yes it can be used....by the other side. If Gonc was witholding information which proved he was libelling the McCanns, then the McCanns lawyers can produce it and ask why he didn't produce it
