British detective believes Maddie McCann "is alive and in Portugal"
David Edgar is a detective who worked on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann after being hired by the child's parents and in an interview with The Sun revealed that he believes Maddie is alive and that the case may still have positive contours.
"It's a disconcerting case, but I believe it has a solution," David Edgar, a private detective who worked on the case of Madeleine McCann's disappearance, began by saying.
The police, who were hired by Maddie's parents - Kate and Gerry McCann - say the child is still alive and is most likely to be in Portugal, where he disappeared in 2007. "There are people out there who know perfectly well what happened" , said the detective.
"The best hope we can have is for someone's conscience to be attained. It may be that the person responsible for Maddie's kidnapping makes a confession when he's at death's door, or that someone close to him and who knows the truth goes forward, "David told The Sun.
"The chances of her having been taken abroad without being detected are highly unlikely. There is someone in Portugal who knows where she is," the detective told the British newspaper.
The police defend that the child, who would be 15 years old, is still living with the kidnapper in a region of the interior of the Algarve.
It is recalled that officially this Sunday the funds available for Operation Grange - the name given to the operation to investigate the disappearance of the British girl - after seven years of investigation.
