I've seen some on sites like the Morais blog saying CCTV isn't wanted in Portugal because it is against 'human rights' - personally, I would have thought it was a basic human right NOT to be assaulted in the streets; or if a crime does occur, to know that the attack will have been caught on CCTV.
Look at all the London rioters who have been arrested and jailed having been caught on CCTV.

I don´t see the problem in having CCTV in the streets, I´m all favour about having them in streets, in all kinds of establishments, parking lots, shopping centers etc, it is not against human rights (except of course in morais demented brain).
