London Splendour
It has opened the London St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, the work of restoring long-awaited and much desired address.
The newly opened St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel London has made furor because it was one of the most anticipated restoration works in the English capital. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott (whom Queen Victoria commissioned the Albert Memorial) to accommodate travelers who arrived at St. Pancras Station, once known as the "Cathedral of the railway stations," the former Midland Grand Hotel featured a image of luxury and ostentation, behind a facade worthy of a fairy tale. Currently with 245 rooms and 38 suites, retains all its grand architecture and decorative neo-Gothic, with grand staircases, marble walls and richly carved arches, ceilings lined with gold leaf, murals and frescoes. It is worth peeking.

Re: London Splendour
Oh, isn't it fantastic! I remember seeing a documentary about it a while back, when it was a bit of a mess, and hearing that it was going to be restored, but I had forgotten all about it till Pedro posted the link.
I want to stay there!!!!!

Re: London Splendour
It's like a Gothic fairy tale, Bonny. When I saw the photos I immediately wanted to stay there too.
Breathtaking. How amazing to think that the lobby used to be the taxi rank.
