MORE DIRTY TRICKS FROM GONC

I am gob smacked again, as ever. But sorry. I don't trust The Portuguese Judicial System, which appears to be riddled with corruption. What price some upstart Lawyer who genuinely wants to expose what has been going on? There are a few Judges involved in this, you know. And I wouldn't put it past Portugal to attempt to do this. We are talking about at least thirty years of abuse of the system, and an awful lot of compensation for a few more poor souls.

For God's sake, even Kate's own Lawyer advised her to consider pleading guilty to a crime she had not committed. And he was supposed to be one of the best.

But in so far as this latest thing is concerned, Amaral, nor The State, can claim Libel in a Criminal Accusation, and certainly not after The Charge has been proven.

This is just some last ditch attempt to suggest that Amaral and The PJ were unfairly treated, probably because The State knows that it has been rife.

But again, I have no idea of what I can do about this.

Unlike some of you, I am not entirely sure that Kate and Gerry will win The Libel Issue, and I could even give you chapter and verse for why.
Personally, I don't think it matters all that much, except that Kate and Gerry had to do something to stop that dreadful man and his mouth from running away with him. And they certainly did stop him. Did they not.
His nasty, sick ideas will never have the same impact again, even if he is found to be innocent of Libel in the Legal Sense.

The search for Madeleine goes on. And every time something like this happens it only serves to keep the search for Madeleine in the public eye. So, Good, and thank you very much.

Gonçalo Amaral and Paulo Pereira Christopher accused of attacks on Leonor Cipriano

PJ asks for suspension for researchers
The Disciplinary Unit of the Judicial Police asks for the suspension of Paul Christopher Pereira, Goncalo Amaral and three inspectors of the PJ case of alleged involvement in attacks on Leonor Cipriano, condemned by the death and concealment of the corpse of her daughter, Joan, in 2004.



A measure that for Paul Christopher Pereira, former PJ does not make sense. "I was not notified of it and spares me the PJ in 2006, so there is no connection and can not be stopped at all. Moreover, if someone is proven to give as assaults and torture after the courts do not prove anything, so incurs a criminal defamation, "said the CM.
The five were accused by prosecutors of being involved in the beating of Leonor Cipriano during an interrogation in the PJ of Portimão. The CM could not get to speak with Gonçalo Amaral.

At first glance, that makes no sense, because they have both left the PJ. But a read of the story here:

And note Cristóvão is muttering about 'criminal defamation', which is frankly ridiculous, given the libellous utterances he and Gonc have both come out with - the pair of them would be serving life sentences if they were ever called to account by their victims.

She said that her husband had sacrificed the holiday of their family because he cared more about a missing child. And that he volunteered for the running of the investigation. This was on the Thursday at around midnight. One might wonder about his interest. But for certain sure Amaral was not within the bosom of his family at the time. He was in a Bar somewhere, stuffing his fat face.
He was made an Arguido on the Friday in the Case of Torture against the mother of another missing child.. Their holiday was supposed to start on the following Monday.
Meanwhile, at breakfast on the morning of Friday which just happened to be Arguido Day, Amaral had already decided that The McCanns, who he knew absolutely nothing about, were seriously implicated in the disappearance of their child.

Need anyone say any more?

But he was a Police Officer, for God's sake. Why would he need support? We don't all go around defending some random Police Officer that we have never even heard of.
Unless they had heard of him. Of course. Which they probably had. Since he was into torturing defenceless women. This alone should have set alarm bells ringing.

Personally, I very much doubt that Leonor Cipriano or her brother had anything to do with the disappearance of Joanna. But the whole Trial was a travesty. And I do not understand why the verdicts were not overturned. The fact that they haven't been, after the proof of torture, tells me all I need to know about Portuguese Justice.

Portugal will rue the day that they allowed this to happen. And believe me, they will.

I am just so sorry that Madeleine was so badly let down in the process of exposing this shit.

It's like trying to knit fog, isn't it? Gonc simply should never have been anywhere near the McCann case - it's not surprising so many people suspect he knows more about what happened that night than he should. It would have been so convenient for him if he had got away with pinning that on the McCanns.

I don't know why Leonor Cipriano is still in jail - she should at least get a retrial.

The case against her would have been thrown out before it even got to court in the UK or USA. Apart from a confession gained by torture, there was not one bit of evidence against her.

Just those lurid 'theories' dreamed up by Gonc and Cristovao. And what it says about them that they concocted those out of their imaginations, I would rather not dwell on.

They are still trying to pull off this cover-up, but it isn't going to work.

Yes, it is like trying to knit fog. You can't ever quite put it into words. You know that it all stinks, but it is so difficult to explain why because most of the shite is in Gonc's head.
He never did have one scrap of evidence against The McCanns, which is the principle on which any half decent police officer would work. So he used supposition and innuendo.

The awful thing is that given less of media attention he might even have gotten away with it. Leonor Cipriano was convicted on less. No Cadaver Dogs involved in that one.
Just his sick mind. And a good beating.

This may help. Criminal defamation is a hangover from the days of totalitarian regimes, where it was used to surpress critisism of the state. And to protect officials.

I really cannot see this as anything beyond some new scheme of Gonc's to either disrupt the libel trial, or get himself a few €€€€€€. Or possibly escudos, the way things are going.

Xcuse me. I thought he had been sacked. Presuming any such Law still exists in Portugal. Although I can't say it would surprise me if it did. Thirty odd years isn't all that long when push comes to shove down any old staircase.

No. It's just another wind up, like The Tanner/Murat Trial. It might have half worked if Amaral hadn't been convicted. But he was convicted. Almost certainly due to the fact that he was guilty.

They would be far better to deal with this festering sore, and at least grant Leonor Cipriano a retrial - hopefully one where the prosecution would have to present evidence, not just what was beaten out of her, or invented by Gonc and his cronies.

And dig out that nest of rats in the police and judiciary in the Algarve.

Bit of a waste of time having a revolution otherwise.

It might depend on which Judges. But I expect that can be arranged. Let's face it, an eighteen month suspended sentence hardly creates confidence in a Justice System.

I think this may simply be intimidation. It is difficult to believe that Marcos and the other lawyer can be found guilty of libel for accusing Amaral of the crime for which he has been found guilty.

What Gonc has to gain from this escapes me - does he really want yet more of his dirty washing appearing in public?
