I have been incredibly, unbelievably lucky.

An aggressive little cancer, Leiomyosarcoma, with an appalling statistical chance of surviving even one year - and they not only managed to make a diagnosis whilst it was still in Stage 1, but helpfully removed the secondary intact, only to find the primary nestling inside it......(which was just as well, cos it analysed as uterine tissue - which was a great trick on my part, since I haven't had a uterus for 40 years! They were baffled originally as to where the primary could be, but it was sent off to Paris for a second analysis, and they found it. Phew!)

I have every chance of still being here in 10 or 15 years. Still got to have regular checks of course for more secondaries, but touch wood, I shall be fine and not even have to have chemo.

Those who celebrated prematurely will be sadly disappointed - it'll be a long time before they prize my cold dead hand off this keyboard.

Erm, it's very useful when you can't get out of bed, but once you have the strength to wheel your 'petit amour', as the trolley that holds the intravenous stuff is charmingly known here, down the corridor to the outside world to join all the other bald headed patients in the backless nightgowns, trailing their pipes and wires - there's nothing like a real fag to set you up for the long journey back to the ward........

After 50 years of smoking, my lungs are spotless, my blood pressure exemplary, and I have enough to worry about with giving up smoking.

Chemo starts next week - I may or may not be around that much, we shall see.

Jeez but this is fun.

Is that a typo, or deliberate?

A typo which is now embedded into a photograph of the header - so not easy to change.

But then some of the people behind Anorak have been such total shits that I really can't work up the energy to get it changed since I found out that he-who-is-totally-paranoid was convinced it was deliberate!

I have no quarrel with Paul Sorene though, he is a very gifted man. It's the other creeps that are the problem!

So did I, for the best part of a year - I rarely look at the front page, I see everything from behind the scenes. It was actually Paul Sorene who pointed it out to me (glad to see he reads the quality blogs too!) in very 'hurt' tones. The paranoid one had convinced him it was a deliberate dig at him.

Just goes to show there are always two ways of looking at every situation.

Ironically, if they had pointed it out to me when they first saw it, I could have changed it; but by the time Paul told me, I had crashed the blog and in resurrecting it, we could only take a screen shot of the header to put back up - so until I change the header, 'Kak' it remains!

Which reminds me Lily - you couldn't lay your hands on a genuine Harley Davidson bandanna could you? I've been told to expect to lose my hair in about a month from now and somehow the turban or floppy hat doesn't quite suit the Raccoon image - I thought a black HD bandanna was more Raccoon-with-attitude!

Reimbursement gratefully arranged - I know you are not far from the HD shop. Been there, loved it!

The entire world knows my address now, thanks to the little shits on McCannexposure - you wouldn't believe how many people sent me Yorkshire T-bags...

An excellent piece, Anna - to me, it has become the modern version of witch-hunting.

But what is even worse, to me - there are, in all this noise, uproar, hysteria and invention, GENUINE victims.

It seems to me that there is a very real danger that GENUINE victims may well be written off as just another part of the 'paedo-hysteria' industry that has sprung up on the internet.

Who can forget the endless torrent of abuse aimed at innocent people on MM, all the time somehow failing to notice that they had made a REAL one a moderator?

Something similar happened on Websleuths, I recall?

We had an absolute gas that week - just shows there are some truly good people on the internet, we had all either originally met on the net, or were meeting for the first time that week. Mr G was a saint to host that shower - eight of us! I couldn't have asked for a better boost at this time.

Touch wood, I'm doing great guns - still got my hair, and coping fine with the chemo. 5 days every 3 weeks. I go back on the 20th of this month.
