Apologies for the lack of recent postings. Anna is back in hospital and Matt and I have been overwhelmed with real life issues which have kept us busy. Plus I have man flu on top of CFS. If any of you want to help out with some articles please get in touch via the About/Contact link at the top of the page.


I think this is about when Anna's next round of chemo was due? Hope it's going as well as these things can.

And I hope everyone at Raccoon Arms is soon back on their feet.

I couldn't agree more - and oddly, Boris Johnson is the only person I, too, could think of with sufficient personality to actually lead the UK out of the mire.

I actually cannot remember which party any of these shiny lookalike politicians belongs to.

I am thankful I am in the semi-detached part of the UK, with a leader who could never be described as shy or retiring...

Some weeks ago a family of holiday makers left behind a nearly full bottle of HP Sauce.
"What a treasure, what a find", I crid, clutching it to my not so ample bosom. "May they live a long and happy life", I also crid. "I'd have a bacon butty, if I had some bacon."

Sadly, it's the new stuff, and it really doesn't taste the same, which is probably why they left it. Such was the disappointment, I hope they all get a minor dose of foot rot.
But I shall have to use it because it was free.

But at least I didn't fork out good Euros at The Brit Counter. And they did leave a couple of tins of Heinz Beans as well. Hence the "Minor dose of foot rot."

Hope you are feeling better, our kid. At least for a little while. But it will soon be over.

I don’t know who this mysterious 99% is, because 99% of the people I know think that the occupiers are f***ing idiots. And the only symbolism I can find is that the protestors are symbolically disconnected from reality.

I am glad to see that this - whatever it is about - protest thingy is having the same effect on other people.

Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops — and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.

I thought they were supposed to be poor and alienated and stuff - nothing says poverty like a $5,000 Mac.

I totally agree with the person who stated that the villians of the piece are high-borrowing, high-spending governments, and central bankers who didn’t rein them back.

I also think that this has all been well organized.

Personally, I am a bit too long in the tooth to believe in 'spontaneous demonstrations'......

You too, Bonny? I do think that years of reckless government spending can no longer be ignored and that this is at the heart of the problem. I do not mean reckless where most necessary services are concerned. However there is too much greed and corruption, for instance - at least on this side of the pond.

Do not even start me on the Westminster government, Lily - how anyone can think that throwing members of the military, nurses, the very people who keep society going, onto the dole;

Whilst protecting the very fat cat bankers who caused the mess in the first place;

is good economic sense, or any any way healthy for society, is quite beyond me.
