At least they don't eat their pets here, but they don't pamper them like in the UK or USA. Dogs and cats are considered working animals, just like pigs, cattle etc - but never as food!! I know the locals find it rather bizarre that foreigners coming to live here actually let their cats and dogs live in the house!! Oh, and I think 'he' is actually a 'she'!! LL

One of my cats once brought home a beautiful black and white Rat, but it must have been a fight nearly to the death as my Cat was very battered. But I have got an horrible suspicion that it was someone's pet. Poor thing.

The villagers don't seem at all fazed by my taking my lot away with me. If I go to Vienna then we have a flat to stay in; Berlin, ditto and if people invite me to pay a visit they know the toms will be with me. None of them have large cats, in fact I think only one of them had ever seen a Maine Coon before!! LL

Apologies, LL. She must have been thankful for the food. The bit at the end, where it was announced that she had been given a home with them was the best.

Of course they have, ma petite, they may be house cats but they do go into the garden. The small kids here love them. LL

I was more worried about the effect that you might have. What with Kilts and Caber Tossing and all.

The kilt is for special occasions, don't remember having actually worn it in the village, and ther caber tossing is done behind the barn! LL
