The judge noticed that, asking several witnesses about their relationship with Gonzo.

So no, we needen't expect any Shock Revelations from the talking head that thinks red trousers are a sure sign of guilt.

It will finish some time in the future. The judge will announce her verdict when she feels like it. The losing side will doubtless then appeal. And it will all start all over again.

Why do they think the grown-ups are less than rivetted by the Lisbon trial, especially when it's only Gonc stooges spouting their usual script?

You almost wish one of these morons would turn up and try it, don't you? Then they could get a taste of the tender mercies of the Portuguese police first hand, maybe slip on a few dangerous police station stairs for causing trouble in Portugal's capital.

While we await news from Lisbon, perhaps this is a good time to reflect on Gonzo's many derelictions of duty, as shown by recent events? Current news stories may be confusing, but they have made several things crystal-clear.

1. Amoral failed to even look at the night creche register, thus misdirecting investigations for years.

2. Amoral failed to look at phone records properly; he seems to have assumed that no-one except the McCanns and their friends were using cellphones in PDL.

3. Amoral failed to investigate past and present OC staff properly.

4. Amoral failed to search abandoned buildings in the area properly.

All basic stuff, which he didn't bother to do - too busy inventing stupid conspiracy theories, no doubt.

It is entirely possible that if a more intelligent, efficient, PJ officer like Rebelo had been in charge, Madeleine could have been found, hopefully alive and well, very quickly.

Now, because of Gonzo's general uselessness - God knows.

He really does deserve to face criminal charges for such total dereliction of duty and incompetence.

IOnly witnesses for Valentim de Carvalho today and Paulo Sargento will testify on 27 November. He asked to be excused because he just got married. Nothing exciting at all today.

Also, that slimeball Rogério Alves showed up to just make a statement for the journalists there.

As it has insulted the McCanns' lawyer, it's safe to assume that Senhor Alves made Team Gonzo look stupid again. Not that that's hard.

You are correct, Bonny.  No one here is sitting on the edge of their seats about Amoral.  They really could care less about him.  Madeleine and her family, then yes they do.

Why would anyone be interested in yet another day of nothing happening, and Gonc's witnesses failing to turn up? This could go on for months.

The media will be interested if and when the McCanns appear. Or if Gonzo treats the world to yet more hissing and burbling about fridges.

This non-event? May as well watch paint dry.

UPDATE: Very short session today. Mário Sena Lopes (Editor) was questioned and explained how many editions the book had, how much the book was sold for, etc.

Paulo Sargento excused himself and will appear in what may be a mega session on Nov 27th.

After a 4 hour lunchbreak 2 witnesses for the other defendants (book and documentary) will be heard.

'A four-hour lunchbreak'? No wonder nothing ever gets done.
