Besides, what is there to say? Witnesses who never read his book. Witnesses who are his best buddies. Witnesses who can't remember and don't know noffink. And now witnesses who have been dismissed, or decided not to testify, not sure which. Hardly breaking news.

Notice that the full evidence from Gonc's chum that dropped him in it over his reasons for writing the thing, Antonio Paulo dos Santos, doesn't seem to have been posted in the Official Edited Reports?

The crucial section doesn't appear to have been even mentioned.

Yes, she's one of the worst muck-spreaders, and totally devoid of any conscience about what she's doing, so devoted is Hoho to Gonzo. One could almost pity her, if she didn't take such delight in hurting Madeleine and her family.

Does that sound as if the judge thinks Gonc has told the truth about his income? No, it doesn't - if she believed him, then there would have been no need to issue the order to produce the receipts.

I shouldn't think that impressed the judge much, right in the middle of a libel trial - or Gonc's own lawyer, who had previously told him to STFU.

So it seems that Isabel Duarte had to prove that Amaral was being untruthful. Which she appears to have done, as The Judge granted her request.
And apparently Amaral has failed to produce this evidence right from the start.

I know that the first several book payments were documented because I have seen them. All taxed at source, as it happens. But I don't know about any later ones. Or any records of what Amaral was paid for Television or Newspaper Interviews, none of whom appear to be involved in this case, like Dear Julia.

So Amaral is still trying his tricks with The Court. But this court isn't having it.

And the one thing you don't do is to treat a Judge like a fool where all of the world can see, even if that Judge is somehow on your side. Which I very much doubt in this case.

No. we don't know, Lily. And Miss Guedes isn't going to tell us. The request was granted. So what is good about this for Gonc?

It would appear that libel has been admitted/proved so they are now down to the damages part of the trial?

That is why the court would want to see proof of income from the books/documentary etc.

This is only an opinion, but I think that Gonc has to cough up. He is trying to fool the court into believing that the receipts are much smaller than they really are? The judge saw through it and ordered what she needed so she can make the award of damages?

Was the sequester around 1.2 million euros?

I knew that the sum was well in excess of 300,000 Euros just for the books at that time. But no one seems to know what happened to the rest of Gonc's earnings, or how much they were. But from what I remember the 1.2Million was based on what The McCanns thought that Gonc had earned overall.
Obviously, The Court in sequestering, thought that their knowledge of what Gonc was worth was insufficient. Which is why they sequestered the house as well.

In the end it doesn't matter how much is left after his spending sprees, and you can't take back a Face Lift. The Court will award what it thinks is fair.

Spot on. It seems that the end is in sight. I realize that Gonc can stall until Kingdom Come, but there will be the bottom line of what he is expected to pay. It will eat at him.
