I've come to the unhappy conclusion that it's deliberate, Lily. Everything he chooses to do, from international matters to domestic racial tension, seems to be calculated to infuriate and annoy, and make matters worse. Why, is another matter....

Is it because it distracts people from seeing what is really going on?

Of course, if these idiots, sorry, protesters, do go on a rampage after the Grand Jury verdict - whatever it is - they will be giving the authorities the perfect excuse to carry on militarizing the police. And Obama can announce his amnesty for however many millions of illegals it is right in the middle of the chaos, and no-one will pay too much attention till the rioting has stopped.

And all of this will keep the Obamacare scandal out of the headlines for a while, at least?

If you announce you're going to be rioting at airports, hospitals, etc., then you can't really complain about the consequences.....

Yes, and from where I am sitting, it has precious little to do with the colour of anyone's skin - it's what's in their heads.

Remember our referendum? There were a lot of YES marches, thousands at a musical protest outside the BBC, etc - and there wasn't a bit of trouble at any of them.

Then look at the way the Unionist Orangemen acted in George Square after they had WON. Fighting, attacks on passersby, Saltires getting burned - about 30 of them have been arrested for assorted public disorder offences. And they were all about as White as it's possible to get.

It was what was inside their heads that caused the trouble, not their skin colour.

Frankly, if the rioters attack hospitals, airports, the Botanical Gardens, etc., I don't see too many tears being shed if the National Guard deal with them, er, robustly.

There is no reasoning with people set on er......'revolution'.

I am afraid they damned their own cause as soon as they produced that list, Lily - they left the Governor with little choice. City Hall, etc., are understandable, if not a good idea, but opera houses? Botanic gardens? Hospitals? Those are the softest of targets, and have nothing to do with any of this.

Frankly, it gives the impression that they intend to attack anything associated with either State or Federal authority.

I think it's supposed to show how horrid the police are being, but what it actually shows to an outsider like me is them doing their best to provoke the police and getting increasingly foul-mouthed when they don't succeed.

As is suggested in the comments, the peasants locked outside could then retaliate by building trebuchets and catapulting dead cattle, rotting corpses, etc., into the Kingdom of the Elite.

I gather the coming hours are likely to be memorable, though not in a good way, because Emperor Obama is about to create millions of new American citizens, at the same time as the Grand Jury verdict is announced.

And he's hoping the rioting the verdict will set off will deflect from the uproar his own announcement is going to cause?

I believe that the Emperor will hope that making 4 million people legal in the US will indeed not be noticed while rioting goes on.

However, he has ensured another 4 million plus will vote in the future for his party.

And all those illegals made legal will enter at the low end of the job market, thereby putting Obama's voter base out of work, and setting off yet more civil strife...
