Well, they used to, didn't they? And they could always mend fences with South American oil producers. Without any CIA shenanigans.

They could indeed do that, Bonny. The strange thing is that the US is a big oil producer anyway.

It was a big thing, LL, until the price per barrel was artificially lowered by the Saudis as part of assorted ongoing feuds. Fracking then became uneconomical.
