45 female Labour MPs write to Jeremy Corbyn demanding he does more to stop 'disgusting' abuse from supporters

Jeremy Corbyn has been accused by nearly half the female MPs in his party of failing to stop the "disgusting and totally unacceptable" abuse of women by his supporters.

In a letter to the Labour leader, 45 female MPs say his response to the intimidation has been “inadequate” and tell him: “Jeremy, this is being done in your name.”

The MPs demand he signs a three-part pledge to do more to stop the “rape threats, death threats, smashed cars and bricks through the windows” seen in recent weeks.

They also suggest Mr Corbyn failed in his duty of care by opposing a secret ballot for a crucial party board vote despite the pleas of women colleagues receiving intimidating messages....etc

He's a fool.

He's a nasty bit of work, IMO, behind his image of a fusty, eccentric old geography teacher.

Can't argue with that.

The Labour leader lambasted the press for not writing about Labour's gain on Ramsgate Parish Council

And he's right, not even the local paper, the Thanet Gazette, covered the race or result.

So here are all the details of Labour's by-election victory

The election was for a seat on Ramsgate Newington Parish Council, which represents an electorate of 3,687 people in Kent.

Penny Newman, the Labour candidate secured victory and a place on the council, defeating Ukip candidate Roy Potts by some 77 votes.

A total of 485 ballots were cast, and the turnout was slightly over 13%. There were two rejected ballots, which were either unmarked or not clearly marked.

Ukip candidate Roy Potts also stood two weeks earlier in a by-election for the much larger Thanet District Council.

He defeated Labour candidate David Green by 295 votes to 281, on a 20% turnout.

Cllr Potts' victory means Ukip retain control of Thanet District Council.

Yup.

On Tuesday, Owen Smith formally became Corbyn’s challenger. Smith previously worked for the drugs company Pfizer. So Corbyn pledged that if he wins the next election he will ban private pharmaceutical companies from working for the NHS.
Drugs that would save hundreds of thousands of lives will effectively be proscribed because someone who dared challenge Corbyn once worked for the industry that provides them. These are not the words of a ‘nice man’ – they are the words of a megalomaniac.

That is utterly terrifying - and yes, Corbyn did say that. But hey, since when did the Left ever actually care about 'the masses' they patronise and despise?

He's a professional agitator, IMO, not a politician - he's never grown out of Student Union debates.

And if the US media think Dave made a mess of him in one of their last sparring matches, they must have been open-mouthed in horror when Mrs May skewered him to the floor with a stilletto heel.....

He's a not ready for prime time politician. He is believing in his own power..... which is at 2 watts

It doesn't seem to matter what happens, the Corbyn camp always seem to have a glib excuse for it - I am surprised she hasn't been accused of being 'mad' or something.

He's is nothing more than an idiot with idiot backers etc.
